Our daily Kayleigh isn’t the normal fare, but when looked at closely, it might be more offensive than most of her usual “mistruths.”
First of all, we need a president that allows his (or her) employees, aides, assistants, whomever, to be able to say something positive about the nation without first saying “Thanks to the incredible leadership of President Trump …” One gets the feeling that if the White House Budget Office managed to get a 33% decrease on the annual price of Post-It notes tomorrow, it would put out a press release beginning with “Thanks to the leadership of Donald Trump, the U.S. Government will pay $23,835.08 less next year in the amount it pays on Post-It notes. We could get into the things Mike Pence might say at home alone with mother but … we’ve already done that joke.
Anyway, the economy is ROARING back:

Okay, a couple of things about this, Kayleigh. To the extent that it’s great news that the economy has come back the way it has, it is due to the extraordinary strength of the American people, much more so than Donald Trump. Politicians should always put the people before themselves. And it’s largely untrue. If anything, one could say that Trump slowed economic recovery by not muscling a stimulus bill through Congress when one was needed, and after November 3rd – whether Trump wins or loses – he’ll have even less reason to be interested.
But, of course, more importantly, that means that the economy is still 33% behind where it stood at the beginning of February, and – COVID is coming roaring back, which one would think they’d have noticed since they all got it. It is to the point where this winter may make last spring look like good times. Given that things are pointing in that direction, today might have been the worst day to release one of those “Thanks to the extraordinary leadership of Donald Trump …” notices.
Then again, we wouldn’t do it at all. Most of us would die of embarrassment before asking staff to do that.

1) The economy is still in a hole compared to pre-COVID.
2) Even pre-COVID, Trump's first 3 years were about the same as Obama's last 3 years (Obama's jobs numbers were 1.5 million better).
