Melania’s Former BFF Strikes Back (With Proof) After FLOTUS Claims ‘She Hardly Knew Me’

We are one of the few media outlets that regularly covers Melania Trump because, well, someone has to and she is every bit the snake that her husband is and every bit as willing to throw someone overboard. Yesterday, we reported on the fact that Melania put out a blog post chastising the media (always, she’s a Trumper through and through, and all those rotten stories about her are the media’s fault for publishing them). Plus, she barely knew this woman “Stephanie, somebody somebody.”

We pointed out that there were sure a lot of texts and recorded calls between these two who barely knew each other, and today the Daily Beast picks up on where we left off yesterday. Stephanie Winston Wolkoff responded to Melania’s whining about the media covering scandalous stuff that detracts from her “real work” (which no one can figure out what it might be).

Her response was pretty typical:

“I find it puzzling that the First Lady of the United States asked someone she ‘hardly knew’ to attend her nuptials, join her for countless lunches, help plan the presidential inauguration, stay over at the White House and Mar-a-Lago, and act as her senior advisor,” she said.

She continued: “I wrote this book to share with the public my experience of working with Melania, our fifteen-year friendship, and her ultimate betrayal. This portrait is not all flattering but it’s the truth and Americans deserve the truth about the occupants of the White House.”

Normally, we would be extremely suspicious of Stephanie’s motivations for writing this tell-all and suspicious about what might be in it. But the “Winston” in Winston Wolkoff is Harry Winston – she doesn’t need the money, and she only told the story after Melania threw Stephanie over “the Wall that never got built” (we are sick of “under the bus”) just as soon as uncomfortable questions got asked about the inauguration. Stephanie had every right to talk about what really happened, and she’s also happily talking to the FBI and state authorities.

But no one gets to write books about Trumps anymore without hearing from Trump’s Roy Cohn:

Do you think it's ok Jeff Bezos doesn't pay taxes, takes a trip to space and still asks the US taxpayer for $10B?

Earlier this week, the Department of Justice announced that it was suing Wolkoff, arguing she broke a non-disclosure agreement and failed to submit a draft of her book to the federal government for pre-publication review. Former government officials occasionally submit books to the federal government to screen for classified information, though observers pointed out that Wolkoff did not have access to classified information during her time working in the White House.

Of course, she didn’t have access to classified material and of course, no NDAs are available against the federal government, the suit is meant to do nothing BUT delay, cost Stephanie money, cause her some stress, and is just a pain in the ass – perfect, as far as DOJ is concerned.
