*Since we originally wrote this article, a fifth VP Pence aide – a close one – has tested positive for COVID.

How appropriate that just nine days prior to the election, we’re getting the best lesson one could get on how we got here in the first place. According to NBC News, after four of Mike Pence’s top aides tested positive for COVID, Mike Pence – the man who is supposed to be in charge of the task force, will not be quarantining. If one wanted to know why this country cannot protect itself from COVID, one need only look at the White House and the nation’s capital, which can’t protect itself either.

“Vice President Pence and Mrs. Pence both tested negative for COVID-19 today, and remain in good health,” vice presidential spokesman Devin O’Malley said in the statement.

“While Vice President Pence is considered a close contact with Mr. Short, in consultation with the White House Medical Unit, the Vice President will maintain his schedule in accordance with the CDC guidelines for essential personnel,” he said.

Pence still plans to travel to North Carolina on Sunday, his office said.

They know damned good and well that Pence can test negative today, have it – give it to others, and test positive tomorrow or a day later, they just don’t care. They have never treated this disease with the seriousness it deserves and that is why this country has 25% of the world’s deaths. It is not hyperbole to say that it is Trump and Pence (mostly Trump) alone that is responsible for the fact that the United States doesn’t have 3-4% of the world’s deaths, rather than 25%.

Meanwhile, the day after the U.S. just had the highest number of positive tests ever, we have this bozo saying this shit:

No, we were testing one hell of a lot at the end of August and beginning of September, too – and we had half as many positive cases. Bottom line is that COVID is roaring back and one doesn’t need to have an MD intensive care specialist father to know it. COVID is back killing people, it never stopped, but it’s on fire now. Schools need to close, Restaurants and bars need to go to take out only, and go back to those steps that got us to where rates got low enough that people began to pretend things were normal again.
