Trump Says He Only Wants Debate Moderators From Fox News, Like Judge Jeanine or Hannity

When President Donald Trump found out that the upcoming October 15 debate with rival Joe Biden would be held virtually, he dropped out.

Now, however, it looks like he’s reconsidering and trying to circumvent the Commission for Presidential Debates, which traditionally oversees the debates, Mediaite [1] reports.

He also made it known he wants a moderator who will be “fair.”

As I’m sure you know, in Trump lingo that means he’s hoping several Fox News hosts will be considered. He announced this on Sean Hannity’s program Thursday because of course, he did.

“Let’s get a fair anchor,” Trump said. “Somebody like the great Sean Hannity. We’ll get Rush [Limbaugh], we’ll get Mark [Levin], we’ll get Laura [Ingraham], we’ll get judge Jeanine [Pirro]. We’ve got a lot of them out there. We’ll get Jesse [Watters], or Pete [Hegseth]. We’ve got a lot of them. Tucker [Carlson] is doing good.”

Of course, Hannity was well aware of the ridiculousness of the situation.

“Oh yeah, that’ll happen,” Hannity said, a note of sarcasm in his voice.

C-Span’s Steve Scully is currently slated to be the moderator, but that’s up in the air because Trump and his campaign cronies became upset after Scully had the temerity to solicit advice on Twitter from Anthony Scaramucci, a former Trump administration official who has now become one of the president’s harshest critics.

Scully’s tweet has since been removed, but he apparently asked “The Mooch” how best to deal with Trump. Scaramucci responded:

“Ignore. He is having a hard enough time. Some more bad stuff about to go down.”

Trump indicated on Hannity’s show that he believes Scully is a “never-Trumper and I think somebody said he worked for Biden at one point.” But Trump’s discontentment aside, the committee has announced the debate will be held in the format that was originally planned, with Scully as a moderator, and the candidate taking part in separate locations.
