WATCH: Trump Stormed Out of a CNN 1990 Interview When Asked About Losing Money

Lesley Stahl isn’t the first reporter to have had Donald Trump walk out of an interview – indeed, we suspect he’s walked out of a lot of them over the years. In fact, records show that in 1990, Donald Trump lost an astonishing $400 million. Ironically, it was in 1990 that Trump sat for an interview with CNN, and walked out when asked about losing money.

Like many interviews with Trump that don’t involve questions about how he achieved such greatness – on his own, with no help at all – this interview, done by CNN reporter Charles Feldman got very heated and resulted in Trump eventually walking off after being questioned about his finances.

According to Rawstory [1]:

In a clip of the interview posted by CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski, Trump can be seen ranting to Feldman that libel laws are too protective of the media before going on to criticize him for purportedly “inaccurate” reporting.

Feldman obviously and appropriately asked.“What was inaccurate so far?”

Trump had no problem answering, the problem was that the facts were all (bad) and thus no fun to talk about: “I thought your demeanor was inaccurate, I thought that questions you were posing to people in my organization were false and unfair.”

How is one’s “demeanor” inaccurate?

Now, generally speaking, if someone is asked false and unfair questions during an interview, that person calmly and helpfully explains why the information is inaccurate, or at least not telling the full story – so as to be believable. Because the moment someone walks out, it looks like a kid having a temper tantrum about the fact that the facts are exactly right.

Feldman noted quite accurately: “Questions, by definition, can’t be inaccurate.”

According to Rawstory:

Feldman then quoted some chatter he’d heard from multiple financial analysts questioning whether Trump’s prized Taj Mahal casino, which would undergo a prepackaged bankruptcy program just one year later.

As per usual, because the interview was not about Trump’s greatness, he had had enough:

“Do the interview with somebody else. Really. You don’t need this. Do it with somebody else. Have a good time. Frankly, you’re a very negative guy, and I think it’s very unfair reporting.”
