Politico has a story on Ivanka Trump not taking her tax investigation well at all. The spoiled brat insists that this is all politically-driven and viciously going after the prosecutors looking into her and her father. One of the more ironic things about her statement is that she’s near surely right, in-part. She is not right about the fact that it is somehow wrong for NY to investigate and possibly prosecute manipulating their taxes. NY wasn’t even looking at the Trumps until they heard the admission about Stormy, the obvious illegal payment, and the obvious co-conspirator “Individual One.” And it’s not NY’s fault that once they began looking through the taxes, seeing other crimes. That’s not wrong.
It may well be that NY had no problem going after the Trumps given their brazen actions in breaking the law and probably don’t like him. It is probably also true that had this all happened in Florida with their governor and attorney general, they wouldn’t be prosecuted. So, she’s sort of right.
But that doesn’t mean it’s wrong for NY to be upset about essentially “stealing” $747,000 (rounded number) and considering prosecution. It is true that billionaires, millionaires, and big names often get around prosecution. And if Ivanka played the game right, there might have been a chance they could still do the same. Had she reacted by saying, “It is possible we made a mistake in our high volume taxes, I doubt we did, but if we did, we will surely make up for it and pay what is owed,” she’d be well on her way to having NY come to a non-prosecution agreement based on them making up the payment. That’s just the way it works with the wealthy.

They know very well that there’s nothing here and that there was no tax benefit whatsoever. These politicians are simply ruthless.”
There is a reason that defense attorneys tell their clients: “Keep your mouth shut unless you are standing beside me and saying only what we talked about.”

She may get the MAGA heads to back her and get them all riled up. But that means nothing to the prosecutors. Her statement certainly does, it could be used as a partial admission that the facts occurred (maybe). She’s just awful and pure entitlement, spoiled brat. For the rest of their lives, at every point, they do something shady or wrong and it hits the papers or prosecutors, we’re going to hear that they are 100% innocent (and wonderful) and it’s all politics against these poor victims.
It’s fair to say Twitter wasn’t feeling very bad for Princess Ivanka:
