Lindsey Graham Calls Biden, Pelosi and Schumer the ‘Trifecta from Hell’ and Warns They’ll End Electoral College

Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) is still begging for money and on Monday he urged Fox News viewers to cough up cash and donate to GOP campaigns in Georgia to avoid what he called the “trifecta from Hell.”

So, who is this hellish trifecta Graham is referring to? President-elect Joe Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), that’s who. In an interview with former GOP congressman and Fox News contributor Trey Gowdy, who was subbing for Sean Hannity, Graham voiced concerns that the situation could turn problematic for him if the runoff for two Senate seats in Georgia doesn’t go as he hopes, TalkingPointsMemo [1] reports. If Democrats win the seats and gain the majority in the Senate, it may dash his hopes of becoming Chair of the Senate Budget Committee.

So he offered up what must sound like a dire warning for GOPers.

“I may not be your cup of tea out there,” he said. “But let me tell you this, I’m a hell of a lot better than Bernie Sanders when it comes to your money.” Graham suggested if Democratic candidates Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock win the two seats in Georgia, the Budget Committee may be helmed by “an avowed Socialist” (otherwise known as Independent Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.)

Prior to Biden’s presidential win, Graham made himself a regular, if somewhat weepy fixture [2] on conservative news networks, pleading for money. Now, in his interview with Gowdy, he’s saying if Republicans are defeated in Georgia’s January 5 runoffs, a “nightmare for conservatism” could happen.

“It’s the end of checks and balances,” he said. “It would fundamentally change the country as we know it. The fate of the Republic really lies in the hands of our friends in Georgia. So I’m worried as we speak tonight.”

But in Georgia those “checks and balances” seem pretty unbalanced when you consider that the incumbent Republicans senators, David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler were investigated for alleged insider trading by the Senate Ethics Committee, which ultimately and rather questionably cleared them of wrongdoing, as watchdog groups continue to investigate Perdue, New York Magazine’s Intelligencer [3] reports. Graham and his campaign, incidentally, have donated to $1 million to Perdue and Loeffler’s reelection campaigns and coughed up another $1 million for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

How very thoughtful of him.

“I just don’t believe the people of Georgia are going to allow this country to be turned into a socialist nation,” Graham said. “That’s really what’s on the ballots for these Senate seats.”

Because if real and actual socialism became a thing in the U.S., we might have free healthcare and free education. You know, horrible things like that.

Imagine.
