Roger Stone Says He’ll Destroy GOP Senate Majority UNLESS They Back Fully Trump in Election Challenge

Yesterday we reported on the crazy plan cooked up by a MAGA Parler group that planned on writing-in Donald Trump’s name in the special election for the two Georgia U.S. Senate seats that will determine control of the U.S. Senate during Biden’s term. They planned on teaching the Georgia electors a lesson in not pushing Trump ahead to win Georgia. (We suppose they wanted enough cheating to throw the election over to Trump, not an accurate count). It was funny because it seemed so oblivious to the consequences.

But now the indefensible Roger Stone has joined the effort, albeit for different reasons. Stone threatens the same thing, that he’ll destroy the GOP advantage in the Senate if they don’t fully support Trump’s last gasps at the presidency. Stone says he’ll use his PAC – we have no idea what kind of money may be in his PAC – in order to punish the GOP senate if they even waiver in their support of Trump’s efforts, Stone will join the movement. From The Daily Beast:

Conservative operatives and a super PAC with ties to infamous GOP dirty trickster Roger Stone are calling for Trump supporters to punish Republicans by sitting out Georgia’s crucial Senate runoffs or writing in Trump’s name instead. And though their efforts remain on the party’s fringes, the trajectory of the movement has Republicans fearful that it could cost the GOP control of the Senate.

The most aggressive call to boycott or cast protest ballots in the two runoff races has, so far, come from a dormant pro-Trump super PAC with ties to Stone that unveiled a new initiative to retaliate against the Republican Party’s supposed turncoats by handing Democrats control of the U.S. Senate.

This is probably not a bad thing from a Democratic perspective. It is starting to look like every effort Trump makes is doomed to failure at this point, so a rush by Senators to assist Trump in his efforts really doesn’t present any sort of threat to Democrats. And it would be wonderful if they somehow threaten the GOP Senate majority. It is hard to determine whether Stone has any power to do anything anymore. He is a convicted felon that few take seriously at this point …

But we recall how desperately Trump needed to commute his sentence. It seemed that Stone had the goods to merely say, “I told Trump about the Russians’ help,” and that might have changed everything because if he had it would be proof of … “collusion” as they say. So we’re forced to wonder whether Stone has special knowledge or evidence to use against Republican Senators. We have always believed that something “weird” was going on with the GOP’s subservience to Trump.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how this plays out.
