Secret Service Reportedly Disgusted by Trump After Over 130 Agents Get COVID From MAGA Rallies

The Washington Post has come out with a shocking report that shows at least 130 Secret Service officers who help protect the president, especially when he travels, have been ordered to quarantine or isolate themselves because they have become infected with coronavirus, or because they have come in contact with infected co-workers.

The spread of the deadly virus has sidelined about 10 percent of the agency’s key security team, and it’s believed to be linked, in part, to a cluster of campaign rallies Trump held in the weeks leading up to the November 3 election. That’s according to officials who spoke on conditions of anonymity to the Post.

News of this outbreak comes as cases rise rapidly across the U.S., with at least 152,000 new cases recorded Thursday the Post reports.

Trump has defiantly flouted coronavirus protocols and is facing well-deserved criticism for it. He’s held dozens of packed rallies in the weeks preceding the election, and as if that weren’t bad enough, he’s also hosted two super-spreader events — the September 26 announcement recognizing Amy Coney Barrett as a Supreme Court nominee, and an indoor Election Night watch party at the White House, Mediaite reports.

After contracting the virus himself at the Barrett event, Trump even had the temerity to leave Walter Reed Medical Center in a vehicle with several Secret Service agents to greet a crowd of supporters. Because when you’re Trump, f*ck anyone else or their needs, that’s why.

And Trump’s disregard for the safety of his agents has caused concern at the agency, according to Carol Leonnig, who coauthored the Post report along with Josh Dawsey.

“A number of people inside the agency are sort of appalled at how sick people are getting,” Leonnig said in an MSNBC interview. “It’s not a natural event to campaign that hard, and [take] that many trips during a global pandemic. Coronavirus rates are spiking across the nation … and that’s when all of these people were on the road.”

Now the Secret Service is worried about how personnel losses will affect the agency’s ability to protect the president, per the Post.

“Being down 100 officers is very problematic,” said one unnamed former senior Secret Service supervisor told the Post. “That does not bode well for White House security.”

But there’s really only one reason this is going on: Trump. If something happens, it’s due to his need for constant attention, his inability to put other’s safety ahead of his own. I’m willing to bet more than a few folks in the Secret Service will be glad to see him leave come January.
