Rick Wiles is a right-wing conspiracy theorist who’s gained a reputation for making absurd claims by insisting America has been taken over by God-hating communists and that coronavirus is really a punishment for supporting LGBTQ rights. Oh, and if President Donald Trump was impeached, his supporters would go a-hunting those responsible.

Now he’s saying he believes Trump’s claims of voter fraud are true. All because former President Barack Obama looked smug when he won in 2008, DeadState reports.

“2008 … the guy from Kenya ran for president of the United States under the name ‘Barack Hussein Obama’ … when he won 2008, I don’t remember where they were at, it was an outdoor event, a very large Obama campaign event on Election Night — I remember the camera catching his face when it had been announced that he’d won, he had a guilty look on his face … and now, looking back, now I know that look on his face was ‘We just pulled off a crime.'”

And of course, Wiles neglects to cite any evidence for this nonsense. He’s just blowing a racist dog whistle perhaps meant to quell the unsteady nerves of Trump supporters.

As someone who writes for DeadState on occasion, I’ve seen Wiles in action many times before. This is a man who’s racist and notoriously anti-Semitic, having at one point described the impeachment of President Donald Trump as a “jew coup.” While this claim sounded bizarre even by Wiles’ standards, Snopes rated it as an accurate attribution. He made the astounding claim on his TruNews program, which streams on YouTube. The episode was subsequently removed by the streaming giant because it violated the company’s rules regarding hate speech.

Specifically, Wiles said this:

“The ‘Impeach Trump’ movement is a Jew coup, plain and simple. The men and women who are the driving forces to remove Donald J. Trump from the White House are Jews. America is in the throes of a political coup led by Jews. President Trump is surrounded by a rabid pack of seditious, treacherous Jews who are intent on overthrowing the votes of millions of Christians who elected him in 2016.”

It’s easy to see why that obnoxious video received the YouTube ban hammer. Frankly, it would be nice if YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook would just ban him altogether, because you can bet now that Biden has won the election, Wiles will have more nonsense to promote.
