It Turns Out Ivanka Trump Won’t Be Attending Joe Biden’s Inauguration After All

When President Donald Trump announced via his dead-in-the-water Twitter account that he would not attend President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration ceremony, reports soon surfaced that his daughter Ivanka would be there to shore up her nascent political ambitions.

That’s not going to be the case, however, InStyle [1] reports. The First Daughter won’t be attending, the White House reported [2] in a statement.

“Ivanka is not expected to attend the inauguration nor was she ever expected to,” one White House official said.

In the wake of last week’s attack on the U.S. Capitol building, Ivanka is facing plenty of criticism after calling the rioters “American Patriots” in a now-deleted tweet. After deleting the tweet she posted this instead:

“Peaceful protest is patriotic. Violence is unacceptable and must be condemned in the strongest terms.”

Initially, reports said that Donald Trump viewed Ivanka’s attendance at Biden’s inauguration as a personal attack, but now it seems as though he doesn’t have to worry about potential insubordination from his daughter.

“He said it’s an insult that she would even want to engage with the crooks that are trying to bring him down,” sources told The Daily Mail. [5] “The president told his daughter that her presence at the inauguration will cost her thousands of supporters and would be the worst decision she could ever make.”

Ivanka originally believed that if she attended the inauguration it would show that she was “being a good sport and will gain future supporters.”

Now that dear old dad has tanked so badly, Ivanka is apparently very concerned this may taint her political career.

“Ivanka is worried that her promising political career is in jeopardy and she’s doing whatever she can to save her reputation.”

I’m guessing that orange stain doesn’t wash out easily. Twitter users may have had similar thoughts as they commented on her tweet condemning the violence. They had a few stark reminders for her.
