Lindsey Graham Warns Trump: You Will ‘DESTROY’ Yourself if You Pardon Insurrectionists

Lindsey Graham had one of his worst Sunday mornings on political television when he had the gumption to call out Nancy Pelosi for the security breach at the Capitol.

But Graham went on to somewhat redeem himself with a message to Trump concerning the dangers in pardoning the Capitol insurrectionists. The fact that any of this even needs to be said is indicative that Graham should actually be calling for Trump to resign right now, today – and it’s not a moot point. Still, to the extent Trump is considering pardoning insurrectionists, it did need to be said and Graham was the one to say it.

Lindsey used the only means of getting through Trump’s reptilian brain, self-interest.

“Mr. President, your policies will stand the test of time. You’re the most important figure in the Republican Party. You can shape the direction of the party, keep your movement alive. We need to understand that these are difficult times.”

That is your problem, Lindsey. McConnell is working right now on dumping Trump as the leader of the Republican party. These are difficult times because we’re being overrun with a virus that Trump and the MAGAs allowed to cough free throughout this country. Every other political problem is squarely on Trump, Graham, the MAGAs and everyone else in the Republican party, perhaps with a few exceptions.

“There are a lot of people urging the president to pardon folks who participated in defiling the Capitol, the rioters,” he continued. “I don’t care if you went there and spread flowers on the floor, you breached the security of the Capitol, you interrupted a joint session of Congress, you tried to intimidate us all, you should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

That this even needs to be said is a symptom of the sickness we continue to suffer. It will not go away until people like Trump and Lindsey go away.

Graham added: “And to seek a pardon of these people would be wrong. I think it would destroy President Trump and I hope we don’t go down that road.”

Yeah, it would be a shame for Trump to ruin that solid-gold reputation he spent four years building. But as our parents always said, no matter how bad the situation, one can always choose to do the right thing, it is never too late to stop making it worse. It is ridiculous to think that this particular action would destroy Trump but it is not ridiculous to say that this could make everything that much worse.

This is terrifying. We did not know it was being seriously considered. But it is being seriously considered or Graham wouldn’t be on television begging Trump not to do it.
