During her four years as First Lady, there were several incidences of Melania Trump snubbing her husband’s advances, and whenever this happened, news sites were quick to report it. Inevitably, “Melania, blink twice if you need help,” became a popular joke on Twitter, but apparently, there’s more to these purported “snubs” than meets the eye, SheKnows reports.

Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Melania’s former friend and the author of a tell-all book on the former First Lady, says Melania is actually a lovely wife and it seems there’s a method to her madness.

The real reason she does this is to provide a distraction to divert the media’s attention. But that’s not all, according to Winston Wolkoff. The chances of Melania divorcing Donald Trump are virtually nil, she said during an appearance on the Hollywood Life podcast. Divorce has never appeared on her horizon. Winston Wolkoff describes her as merely the flip side of her husband’s coin.

“I thought Melania [Trump] was different than the rest,” she said. “She’s not, but I believed, just as these people believe Donald when he tells them something over and over… I had to learn the hard way that she is a Trump.”

She added that Melania is an integral part of what keeps the former president going.

“I believe their way of showing affection towards one another is her telling him how wonderful and great he is,” she said. “She was always his first phone call [after a rally], always, no matter where she was. And the first thing he’d say was ‘Hey baby, how’d I do? Like he wants her approval.”

But what about all those times we’ve seen her slapping his hand away and rebuffing him in other ways? What’s that all about?

According to Winston Wolkoff, these are nothing more than “distractions” to “shine the light over here so you don’t see what’s going on over there.” Apparently, Melania likes to befuddle the media, and this even includes the time that she wore the “I Really Don’t Care Jacket.”

It’s anyone’s guess as to why she really does this, but the important thing to remember here is: These two are finally out of the White House. It’s very obvious that Melania prefers being out of the limelight, but she’s supported a man who led a presidency full of mendacities that gave birth to white nationalism, embarrassment on the world stage, and hundreds of thousands of deaths that could have been prevented was the situation handled properly. It wasn’t.

So, like millions of other Americans, I’m glad these two are gone.
