Mike Pence Is ‘Homeless,’ Going from Couch to Couch, ‘In Fear of His Life Because of Donald Trump’

This morning, Joe Scarborough went off on Republicans in the Senate, reminding them again of what’s at stake with respect to the impending impeachment. Donald Trump’s crowd stormed the Capitol and at least some of them did so with the intent to kill Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi. As Scarborough says, Donald Trump alone sent them into that building and on that mission: (Video below)

“Those lugheads in the United States Senate that think this is just another Trump fight.”

This is exactly right. Last night Don Jr. took to Facebook to launch into a long stacatto burst in support of Rand Paul, saying that the impeachment was a “hoax” and a “joke” all cooked up by “Chuck and Nancy to get back at Donald Trump.” They are turning the insurrection into just another Trump scandal.

Scarborough continued:

We’re now talking about a movement and a president that inspired people to come to Capitol Hill to try to kill, their words not mine, the vice president of the United States and the speaker of the House. and guess what, Mike Pence is now in Indiana because of Donald Trump, trying to lay low because there are people now who have Mike Pence on their hit list because of Donald Trump …Mike Pence is in fear for his life because of Donald J. Trump.

We said such before the inauguration. We noted that despite the fact that Mike Pence chose to support Trump without question for four years, Pence did put his life on the line in leading the Senate to do its job. Pence may have a small Secret Service detail with him, perhaps not even that. Pence certainly doesn’t have enough to ensure his safety.

It sounds like it’s already causing problems for Pence in Indiana. Pence is essentially homeless, perhaps due solely to Donald Trump and fear for their lives.

According to Business Insider:

“According to one source, the Pences are staying at the dolled-up cabin nearby that the Indiana governor uses as a retreat … Two Republicans close to the Pences said they heard that the former second couple was staying at Pence’s brother’s place in Columbus. … The former second couple doesn’t actually own a house.

“Republicans who spoke with Insider also said they wondered whether Pence and his team are closely guarding their new domicile because of the wave of death threats he faced just three weeks ago. The Trump-incited mob that stormed the Capitol earlier this month shouted that they wanted to hang Pence, and some of the people came within about 100 feet of confronting him and his family as they were hurried to a secure location in the Capitol.”

The Business Insider story also sets out the least surprising detail of all, that Donald Trump’s team shut off all contact between Trump and Pence. Trump remains furious over Pence’s refusal to make an attempt to turn the election to Trump during the certification process on January 6th. Meanwhile, Pence reportedly resents the fact that Trump put him in danger. Only at this late date does Pence understand what so many others learned very on, Trump’s “loyalty” only exists in real-time, and is based solely upon what one last did for Trump or did to Trump, nothing more.

Perhaps the MAGA climate will cool enough in the next year or two such that the Pence’s can live an approximation of normal life. We hope so. Pence rose to the occasion at this nation’s most important turning point in generations. It doesn’t matter what Mike might have previously supported, the Pences should be able to live safely in their own nation.
