Obama, Bush and Clinton to Join Biden in Wreath-Laying After Inauguration to Show Unity and Decency is Back

You cannot unite with the MAGAs. You cannot unite with Trump. You do not want to unite with the still-committed MAGAs and you definitely don’t want to unite with Trump. Three former presidents and President Biden want to unite that part of the country worth uniting and they want to do it in the way that cuts off the cancer that is MAGA and Trump. You also know that it crushes Jimmy Carter’s heart that age and COVID means he should stay back so he can safely continue to be Jimmy Carter.

The message is all too clear. Democrats and the responsible Right are committed to unity, but only after the cancer is removed and the body worth healing. Thus it is that Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama, will join with the newly inaugurated President Biden in a show of unity to lay a wreath at Arlington National Cemetery at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They want to unify the country that men and women died to protect. Soldiers died for the flag on their shoulder, not a MAGA flag.

And everyone knows that some of the best Americans will be there alongside the presidents, the women who served in the White House, Hillary, Laura, and Michelle. It is fitting that they will be with Kamala Harris shortly after the inauguration because those women have been part president and vice president, too. We are especially happy that Laura Bush will be there because she went unappreciated even in office. She lifted the White House during her term.

Anyway, from the Daily Mail:

Joe Biden will lay a wreath at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington National Cemetery shortly after he takes the oath of office with former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama joining him in a show of unity.

He also told reporters in Wilmington on Monday that he’s not worried about having an outdoor swearing-in ceremony on January 20th in the wake of last week’s riot on Capitol Hill, where a pro-Trump mob swarmed the stands built for his inauguration.

The healing process will take some time. No one knows how long. But healing isn’t even possible without cutting off Trump and his horde. The presidents and the women with them know that if they didn’t cut off Trump, he’d fester underneath. The country would be less united even if he chose to come.

He isn’t coming. Because he’s not invited. And that’s the way it has to be for quite a while.
