Election 2020

One of Trump’s Top Supporters Tried to Compare Trump to Jesus and It Didn’t Go Very Well

The level of fanaticism of some supporters of Donald Trump runs very deep, with some doing absurd things like comparing him to Jesus. This includes MAGA fan Dean Browning, who tweeted “If Twitter had been around during the age of Jesus Christ, he too would have been banned from the platform for misinformation.”

Yeah, Trump is so Christ-like, what with his racism, promotion of fascism and throwing little brown kids in cages. It ranks right up there with Christ’s beating the snot out of the money lenders for being greedy, you know?

Trump has, in fact, been permanently banned on Twitter, and indefinitely banned on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms, Indy100 notes.

But according to Browning, people who are on the right side of history are “rarely appreciated” while still alive. Browning is just one among others who view Trump this way, including Republican congressman Barry Loudermilk, who compared Trump’s first impeachment to the persecution of Christ.

How these people can even compare Trump to Jesus is beyond me. Jesus, if he lived, was all about sharing those loaves and fishes. Trump is abjectly against anything that’s remotely magnanimous or unselfish. With his continual greed and sneaky ways of tax avoidance, he more like those money lenders than he is Christ.

And folks on Twitter see through this. They fully understand the hypocrisy of comparing this man to Christ.

Some remembered that time Browning tweeted this:

Browning caused that particular flap by accidentally forgetting to mention the tweet was a quote from one of his followers, USAToday reports. He tried to explain it away by posting a short video of a man claiming to have sent the comment to Browning.

Perhaps that’s why some users tweeted things like this as well:

But I think this Twitter user encapsulated what I think Jesus was supposed to be all about:
