The level of fanaticism of some supporters of Donald Trump runs very deep, with some doing absurd things like comparing him to Jesus. This includes MAGA fan Dean Browning, who tweeted “If Twitter had been around during the age of Jesus Christ, he too would have been banned from the platform for misinformation.”
Yeah, Trump is so Christ-like, what with his racism, promotion of fascism and throwing little brown kids in cages. It ranks right up there with Christ’s beating [1] the snot out of the money lenders for being greedy, you know?
Trump has, in fact, been permanently banned on Twitter, and indefinitely banned on Facebook, Instagram, and other platforms, Indy100 [2] notes.
If Twitter had been around during the era of Jesus Christ, he too would have been banned from the platform for misinformation.
Those on the right side of history are rarely appreciated during their time on earth.
Patriots do not be dismayed. We are on the right side of history.

But according to Browning, people who are on the right side of history are “rarely appreciated” while still alive. Browning is just one among others who view Trump this way, including [4] Republican congressman Barry Loudermilk, who compared Trump’s first impeachment to the persecution of Christ.
How these people can even compare Trump to Jesus is beyond me. Jesus, if he lived, was all about sharing those loaves and fishes. Trump is abjectly against anything that’s remotely magnanimous or unselfish. With his continual greed and sneaky ways of tax avoidance, he more like those money lenders than he is Christ.
And folks on Twitter see through this. They fully understand the hypocrisy of comparing this man to Christ.
If you were around in Jesus‘ time you would be decrying those who had a problem with his murder because “if he had just followed orders” the cops wouldn’t have needed to lynch him

The nazis haven't been appreciated during their time on earth, they must be the good guys

Confederate slave owners also thought they were patriots on the right side of history.

Jesus: Be nice to each other
Trump: I'm still president! and anyone who says differently is a criminal trying to overthrow democracy!
One of these things is not like the other!

Some remembered that time Browning tweeted this:
this you? pic.twitter.com/gWVWhSqF0k [9]

Browning caused that particular flap by accidentally forgetting to mention the tweet was a quote from one of his followers, USAToday [11] reports. He tried to explain it away by posting a short video of a man claiming to have sent the comment to Browning.
Perhaps that’s why some users tweeted things like this as well:
They also laughed at Bozo The Clown. pic.twitter.com/Rw3Ya4YDWn [12]

Gee Dean, you raise some good points but I just feel like I’d accept this opinion more? If it came from a gay black guy? Hope you understand :/

But I think this Twitter user encapsulated what I think Jesus was supposed to be all about:
Jesus is my favorite Refugee from the Middle East, who told his followers to give away all they owned and that rich people don't go to heaven, who was eventually killed by the state for his beliefs.
