Loonie Louie Gohmert Suggests ‘Violence in the Streets’ After Judge Rejects His Lawsuit

Louis Gohmert is almost without question the dumbest member of Congress. He might have been the only Congressman who didn’t know that his lawsuit would die a quick and painless death upon being read by a Trump-appointed judge.

But he thinks the loss is the ultimate rejection of clear core constitutional values. Again, this is likely the only man in Congress who could be this “off.” But now he is both dumb and dangerous. He says the rejection of his lawsuit could be seen as a call to violence in the streets. From Mediaite: [1]

Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert reacted to the dismissal of his lawsuit against Vice President Mike Pence by telling an interviewer that the decision sends the message that people must “go to the streets” and be “violent” in order to to have their grievances about President Donald Trump’s Electoral College defeat addressed.

Here is Gohmert’s ridiculously convoluted reasoning:

“And if the appropriate defendant is not the vice president, that under the constitution has the power to make that determination, then there is no,” Gohmert continued, then added “But bottom line is, the court is saying we’re not going to touch this, you have no remedy, basically in effect the ruling would be that you got to go to the streets and be as violent as antifa and BLM because I’m not going to be [inaudible].”

If all of that sounds insane and impossible to understand, we believe it means you are clear-headed and sane.

The true insanity here is that when he gets to jump onto these increasingly popular MAGA platforms and then talk about violence, quite obviously he increases the heat and likelihood that violence will break out on Wednesday. Trump hasn’t specifically called for violence but he certainly has called people to come to Washington Wednesday to “stop the steal” to the point that Trump is even considering having the airfoce do a fly-over of the demonstration. (He loves those loud flyovers.)

Sometimes we think we just have to get through the next 18 days. And we will do that no matter what. But it’s scary when one wonders if even that isn’t enough and people rise-up afterward, too. Because it doesn’t seem like they’ll stop.
