WaPo Gets Shocking Tape of Trump Screaming at Georgia Sec. of State, ‘I Just Want to Find Enough Votes!’

In a report just released by the Washington Post, [1] the WaPo describes an “extraordinary one-hour phone call” between Trump and the Georgia Secretary of State in which Trump pleads: He just needs 11,780 more votes!

Worse, Trump alternated between flattery and threats:

The Washington Post obtained a recording of the conversation in which Trump alternately berated Raffensperger, tried to flatter him, begged him to act and threatened him with vague criminal consequences if the secretary of state refused to pursue his false claims, at one point warning that Raffensperger was taking “a big risk.”

This threat comes from a man who has always had rumors (nothing factually established) of ties to the mob both here and in Europe. It is not some empty threat or at least no one in their right mind should perceive it as an empty threat. Moreover, Trump leads a cult of many well-armed fanatics that are just awaiting an order. Again, this is not an empty threat and even if it was it would still likely be criminal for Trump to make such a threat.

And then this:

At another point, Trump said: “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.”

It doesn’t matter that you have less than 11,780 votes, just find 11,781. “WE WON THE STATE.” Trump views the entire world in such a manner.

The rambling, at times incoherent conversation, offered a remarkable glimpse of how consumed and desperate the president remains about his loss, unwilling or unable to let the matter go and still believing he can reverse the results in enough battleground states to remain in office.

He will not let it go for the rest of his life, but the rest of his life may involve criminal charges over calls just like this. What happens when a guy makes a call like this, with the knowledge he’s just going to pardon himself and everyone else in the room, or at worst, get Pence to pardon him as he resigns at 11:00 a.m. and plans to be on a plane at 11:10 a.m? No one is certain that Trump will do this but that would be entirely consistent with Trump’s words and actions.

LISTEN:

We are not the only ones looking at this as a possible criminal act. And yes, it stopped us in our tracks.

Right. We wouldn’t put up with it in another country and until Trump, we wouldn’t put up with it here.
