Meghan McCain Got Humiliated By Jen Psaki After ‘The View’ Co-Host Accused Biden Of Putting ‘Kids In Cages’

Jen Psaki is getting pretty good at this job and, in particular, handling difficult questions from MAGAs who are suddenly very concerned about the fate of immigrant children on the border.

Psaki had to know this would be difficult. This week the Biden Administration announced that the sheer number of children involved – ones taken by the Trump administration – have forced the administration to reopen a border facility that infamously held the “caged children.” Conservatives, including the monstrous Stephen Miller, were ready to pounce and labeled the treatment “inhumane” and “cruel” treatment.

It is inhumane and cruel to have children separated from their parents and yet that’s what this government under Trump did. Thus the Biden administration is dealing with the fallout as best it can. Jen Psaki has had to patiently explain the dynamic to Peter Doocy of Fox News, and once again to Meghan McCain. Meghan is, in her heart, a MAGA and wants to play the “both sides” game. Jen Psaki is not about to have the administration for which she works compared to the Trump administration’s possible crimes against humanity.

Meghan combatively asked: “I just want to know are you or are you not detaining children in a different facility,”

The implication was, obviously, that the Biden administration is mistreating the children. Psaki then explained to Meghan the exact same thing she explained to Doocy, the facility had been entirely redone so that the children were safe in the COVID age, they were adequately fed and educated, and had access to medical care and mental health services. She then dropped some reality on Meghan:

“We can’t send them directly to families that haven’t been vetted. We’ve seen issues with that in the past. We can’t have them all in the former HHS facility because of COVID, and we need to make sure there are safety protocols so they’re not in beds next to each other.”

Meghan just wouldn’t quit, and noted that AOC is also complaining (On this issue, along, Meghan finds aide and comfort in AOC’s compassion), and then said that a “facility” versus “cages” is potato-patahto.

But there obviously is a difference and Psaki patiently hammered McCain’s faux-outrage, in that the single biggest difference, obviously, is that the Biden administration is no longer ripping kids out of parents’ arms, which is the first step in solving the problem. She went on:

“This is a facility — and we had to open a new one to make sure we have the safety protocols in order to address the COVID needs and the health and safety needs because we can’t have as many kids in the former HHS facility.

“That’s exactly what we did, but our objective is to get these kids into safe homes with their families as quickly as possible, and we are absolutely not doing what the former president did, and what frankly the current president and the current vice president objected to, which is ripping kids from the arms of their parents. That is not the policy of this administration and not something we would do.”

Yeah. Ripping kids away from their parents and putting them in horrendously inadequate “holding facilities” versus not ripping kids away from parents and spreading the kids that the U.S. government is holding out among several facilities so that they have adequate space and care, the difference is likely too subtle for McCain but the viewers surely understood.

Psaki is getting pretty good at this and anyone wanting to play the “both sides” game better damn well up their game if they want to play with Jen.
