She had to come out eventually, especially if she wants to be president someday, and we’ve read reports, including one from Vanity Fair, that says Ivanka and Jared have long-planned just such a thing.

But, wow, does Ivanka ever have a reputation to rehab. She sent out a couple of messages in the interim but the last thing most people remember coming from Ivanka Trump was a tweet in which she implored the insurrectionists to stop their violent attack on the Capitol by tweeting “Patriots please…” These were people attempting to overthrow an election, thereby destroy democracy. But because the insurrectionist supported her father, and thus her, they were – of course, patriots. She took the tweet down very quickly, knowing that it sounded horrible.

But as said, Ivanka needed to come out eventually. And someone like Ivanka doesn’t really “come out” – or at least it doesn’t count, unless cameras aren’t around to capture her pretending to do some good deed. Today, she pretended to do a good deed. Interestingly, Ivanka did her deed with a known-grifter and minister who calls for Jesus to cause miscarriages in any satanic pregnancy, Paula White, was the White House Spiritual Adviser, the one who Trump said pastored just as “good as she looks.”

We don’t want to sound too cynical, because the cause was a worthy one, human-trafficking. Ivanka participated in a roundtable, which is a word that grates like fingernails on a chalkboard to some of us. It is a good deed. But the good deed becomes less a good deed and more a commercial once it’s publicized and pictures are taken. The roundtable because little more than when Cruz lifted supplies into cars on camera to rehab his image.

The presence of Paula White immediately minimizes most credibility and further emphasizes the PR opportunity because we’ve never seen Paula White participate in anything that didn’t involve self-promotion.

We are reminded of Jesus’s teaching about the people who say their prayers with gusto amidst the crowds as hypocrites and that prayers should be done alone, probably in the dark of night. These types of activities can’t be that different. Moreover, they can definitely be done without announcements, pictures, all that.
