Ivanka Trump’s Political Aspirations Have Just Been Dealt a Devastating Blow

Rumors are flying all over Ivanka Trump’s purported political ambitions, with some people suggesting she may take a shot at running for president and others speculating that she may at some point be after Republican Sen. Marco Rubio’s job. Some pundits are suggesting she may launch her political career within months, News.com.au reports.

Some people are still convinced she may challenge Rubio in 2022 but that doesn’t look to be the case — for now, but others also believe she may run for governor.

Others also think she could be her father’s vice presidential running mate if he runs in 2024, or that she could even run for president herself.

But at least one political commentator and author believes these options will be a next-to-impossible challenge for her because more of her family’s shady dealings are being revealed all the time.

Spencer Critchley a former communications consultant for Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns is the author of Patriots of Two Nations: Why Trump Was Inevitable And What Happens Next, said Ivanka’s behavior indicates she’s giving real thought to her political ambitions.

Ivanka seems to be adopting “ostentatiously virtuous positions on non-controversial topics like motherhood or being kind to each other” Critchley said, noting she’s also keeping herself in the public eye, being “very carefully groomed and presented” while in public. He noted her attendance at official state events during the Trump administration, such as the G20 Summit in Japan in 2019.

Now, however, attention is being paid to some pretty questionable actions Ivanka undertook before and during her time as an adviser to her father, Donald Trump while he was president.

”It seems clear with the hints she’s dropped over the years that she thinks (running for office) is the logical next step,” he told news.com.au.

“But Ivanka is obviously completely unqualified in terms of her experience but also in terms of her character — in many ways, she’s similar to her father and she has certainly had some very shady dealings.”

“Ivanka, from the very beginning and even before the Trump administration, had been involved in very questionable stuff,” Critchley added.

That included the time when Donald Trump intervened in granting Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner security clearances following FBI background checks. This definitely went against the advice of intelligence officials and White House staff.

This blew up into a huge scandal for the Trump administration when the story broke in 2019 after New York Magazine reported Kushner’s clearance had been denied because of his “family real estate business and its ties to foreign governments, along with his repeated misstatements to the FBI about foreign contacts.”

According to Critchley, the couple was initially denied the clearances because they were “deemed to be too vulnerable to black mail.” The security fracas itself raised questions.

But that’s not all. While Jared and Ivanka pledged to “sever ties to outside businesses and income” while they served in the White House, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) revealed that the couple earned between $172 and $640 million in joint income during their entire time in the administration.”

CREW previously reported that the couple reported earning between “$US23,791,645 and $US120,676, 949 combined as part of their final financial disclosure reports, which was earned over the course of 2020 all the way up until January 20, 2021.

”Some of that came from the Trump International Hotel which was an obvious influence-peddling machine with foreign executives and lobbyists staying there to curry favor with the president,” Critchfield said.

“Something like that is normal in other countries but it is absolutely unconscionable in the U.S., which has very strong anti-corruption legislation when it’s enforced,” he added.

Then there’s the matter of all her business dealings with China, where it was revealed in 2018 that the Chinese government had approved Trump’s brand’s 13 trademarks in only three months. That, said Noah Bookbinder, CREW’s executive director, “raises significant questions about corruption.”

”It’s very hard to imagine how that could have happened without her being the president’s daughter,” Critchley said.

And believe me, I’ve only mentioned a few of the things news.com.au. has brought out. Whether this will short-circuit her political career remains to be seen, but most of us have a good idea about what dear old dad has done, so who knows really?

Quite obviously, Ivanka is just a chip off the old block.
