In an interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Newt Gingrich wasted no time using fear-mongering tactics against Democrats saying they are trying to create an America that’s “anti-white” and anti-Asian.” He also referenced the recent controversy surrounding Dr. Seuss.

Several of the celebrated author’s books have been removed by the organization that publishes his works after their racist content was revealed. Dr. Seuss Enterprises also said it will no longer publish these books. That, of course, has led to conservatives once again yelling about “cancel culture,” which has become the new dog whistle for them.

This gave Gingrich the perfect opportunity to make dumb claims about transgender people and equally nonsensical claims about religion.

“They (Democrats) don’t want to protect your America,” Gingrich told Carlson. “They want to create an alternative America. It’s an America of racial deep inequality and an anti-white, and by the way, anti-Asian basis.”

“It’s an America in which transgender dominates Christianity and Judaism. It’s an America in which they actually want to pass a bill to create a permanent machine just like California, Chicago, and New York.”

“So when you and I talk about why they would do this for Americans because they really want a radically different country and they realize — they just proved it with Dr. Seuss — they really despise America,” Gingrich said.

I don’t know what in the gefoodlehoppers Gingrich is talking about here. He talks about Democrats promoting “racial deep inequality” and an anti-Asian agenda but provides no evidence and doesn’t even tell viewers why he’s saying this.

What Democrats are really trying to do is make America an inclusive home for all people. As a nation, we’re diversifying quickly according to data from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Brookings Institute that show the white population in the U.S. is in decline (slightly).

So yes, Democrats are trying to be inclusive to help all of us grow as a nation. I consider myself a socialist and am considerably further to the left than most Democrats are, and for far too long, America has been a country obsessed with wealthy, aging white males, so this is a change that’s absolutely necessary and I’m glad to see it. Hopefully, men like Gingrich are on their way out, because it’s way past time for that to happen.
