Other Shoe Drops: Rumored Insurrectionist Rep. Madison Cawthorn Tied to THREE DOZEN Harrassment Claims

Anyone who has read much about the MAGA movement has known for some time that the “Big Three” new MAGA representatives in Congress that have questions to answer about January 6th were Lauren Boebert, Marjorie Taylor-Greene, and Madison Cawthorn, the North Carolina Republican who has already been caught in a lie about the car accident that left him paralyzed and in a wheelchair. Now, Madison is trending on Twitter as Buzzfeed reports that three dozen women have come forward with stories of harassment that range from inappropriate questions all the way to groping and taking women “for drives” against their will.

Before we even get into the harassment claims (though they are critical), it is important to establish that even prior to the women’s claims, there were questions about Cawthorn’s role in the insurrection. We are seeing a pattern develop in that it seems as though someone – we don’t know who – may have relied upon the most energetic new congressional representatives coming into congress to do some of the preparation or at least organize the “enthusiasm” for the rally. From Buzzfeed:

Cawthorn fraternized with rising far-right stars prior to his election and has posted photos and gym selfies with QAnon supporters Reps. Lauren Boebert and Marjorie Taylor Greene and other members of the Patriot movement, a collection of extremist, nationalistic groups that have taken root within the Republican Party.

Now, with respect to the  harassment claims, we have a zero-tolerance policy regarding Andrew Cuomo and we want to see the GOP (with our help) do the same with their own young congressman. The stories do not describe isolated instances:

While Cawthorn has painted women’s accounts of misconduct and predatory behavior as politically motivated lies, this new investigation into his time at Patrick Henry College provides an in-depth examination of the allegations against the North Carolina representative and uncovers previously unreported details. More than 20 former Patrick Henry students told BuzzFeed News that Cawthorn harassed his women classmates. The students either said they experienced his sexually inappropriate behavior firsthand, comforted friends after a traumatizing incident, or were warned about his conduct by their dorm leaders. Although Cawthorn was only at the school for just over one semester, students said he quickly developed a reputation as someone who took advantage of and mistreated women.

Two RAs told BuzzFeed News that soon after Cawthorn arrived at PHC, they began to warn the women students in their dorms to try to avoid him and to say no if he ever asked them to go for a ride with him in his Challenger. “I got info from other RAs to warn the female student body not to go on joy rides with him because bad things happened on those joy rides,” said Giovanna Lastra, one of the former RAs who warned her students. “Our school was filled with girls from a Christian background, and there was a high level of naivety.”

A third RA, Philip Bunn, confirmed to BuzzFeed News that he heard “from female RAs that they were telling girls to avoid [Cawthorn].”

He was on campus for a little over one semester and garnered that kind of reputation? Granted, it was a very conservative Christian school and perhaps – perhaps – some of the behavior wouldn’t make a lot of waves in a big public institution (which is not to say that it is less wrong), but for him to be that notorious in a little over one semester should be seen as the biggest flashing red sign ever to flash.

This man must be watched. There are very serious unanswered questions about his role in the January 6th insurrection, and anyone reckless enough to have committed the acts he committed in college would be the type to recklessly do more as he walked onto the Captitol campus. With respect to January 6th, there are only clues and questions. As to his behavior on campus, that would seem to be settled fact.

He should be driven from congress immediately.
