Election 2020

The Way Trump Referred to Wife Melania at CPAC is Causing a Stir…Here’s Why

Former First Lady Melania Trump has made it more than clear that she’s happy to be out of the White House but that hasn’t prevented her husband, former President Donald Trump from strongly indicating he plans another run at the presidency.

Despite the fact that she’s happy to be well away from the White House, Trump insisted during his speech at Sunday’s conclusion of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) that she’d accompany him again to become the “future First Lady” and that he’d “beat” the Democrats in 2024 for a “third time” a not-so-sly effort to again promote the baseless lie that the election was “stolen.”

“Do you miss me yet?” Trump asked while taking the stage an hour later than scheduled.

Melania, however, wasn’t seen at the Orlando conference, even though it’s only 200 miles from her Mar-a-Lago home, The Daily Mail reports.

When Trump was elected president Melania spent months at Trump Tower in New York for several months before joining him, and the tell-all book The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump claims she did this to solidify her prenuptial agreement. At the time, Melania insisted she didn’t want to interrupt their son Barron’s school year. More than a few people have wondered if the prenup includes a clause about how long the couple remains married after Donald Trump left the White House.

There has, in fact, been plenty of speculation that the couple, who were rarely affectionate towards each other in public, may divorce now that Trump is no longer president.

Melania hasn’t been seen in public since January 20, after the couple arrived in Florida upon leaving the White House. Trump smiled and waved for the press upon exiting the plane but the former First Lady appeared to grimace and quickly walked away from photographers. The footage of her walking away from her husband has been viewed more than four million times since it debuted on social media.

But despite all this, Donald Trump is insisting that she’ll join him.

During his speech, he also said he doesn’t plan to form a new political party because it would be too divisive for the Republican Party.

“We’re not starting new parties,” he said. “We have the Republican Party.”

“Wouldn’t that be brilliant?” he said, his voice dripping sarcasm. “Let’s start a new party, let’s divide our vote so you can never win. No, we’re not interested in that.”

Chances are that Melania won’t have to worry about another White House stint but it is worrisome because Republicans bow down to Trump’s every whim. The fact that this man is talking about running again means Democrats had better pay attention and prevent him from winning.
