Trump Lied by Omission About Not Being Vaccinated: He DID Get the Vaccination Right Before Leaving DC for Last Time
Trump never did admit to getting vaccinated as president. Mike Pence and his wife Karen got vaccinated on December 18th as a demonstration that the vaccines were safe. And properly so, much as we don’t like either of them, they were public servants and that was their job. But we continued to hear questions about whether Trump would get vaccinated. “When his doctors recommend …”
It seemed like at every turn while Trump was president, he downplayed the seriousness of the virus even as he got the actual disease and – as later reports indicated – came within an hour of needing to be placed on a ventilator. He also left the hospital earlier than his doctors wanted, saying he felt better than he had in his life, as if getting COVID and treatment is the fountain of youth. Speculation occurred the moment the vaccines came out as to when and where Trump would get the vaccine. He never did, or at least he never did publicly.
But he got the shot privately, just before leaving town. A lot of people speculated that Trump did not want to roll up his sleeve on national television, revealing a doughy and old arm. Obviously that was 100% speculation. Others speculated that he was afraid of needles. We don’t know. We only know that having a chance to get a golden “cure,” Trump demurred. Yes, he had already had it but there is a lot of evidence that one no longer has immunity after 90 days post-COVID.
It matters because all too many of his followers have reservations and conspiracy theories about the vaccine. The mask issue is an example. It is tragic and unforgiveable to think about how many people would be alive today had Trump said last May 1st, “It is the most patriotic thing you can do. If you want to make America Great Again, and get back to business, never get caught outside without a mask on, and you can buy masks at my website …” while selling MAGA masks.”
Serious question, would 300,000 people be alive today, out of the 520,000 that died? It is not out of the realm of possibility. His selfishness and vanity likely directly led to hundreds of thousands of deaths. And when he did decide to get vaccinated, he didn’t do it on television with Melania, perhaps the rest of the family, and reassure the MAGAs, “This is what is needed, please do.” Perhaps he didn’t want people to get vaccinated so that the disease wore on? One can speculated all day but there are few explanations for his behavior. From CNN:

The official said at the time that Trump was still receiving the benefits of the monoclonal antibody cocktail he was given during his recovery from Covid-19 earlier in the fall, when both he and the first lady had tested positive for the virus.
CNN previously reported that a White House official had said in mid-December that Trump wouldn’t be administered a coronavirus vaccine until it was recommended by the White House medical team.
The above simply had to be a lie. We cannot imagine a scenario where his medical team would recommend against taking the vaccine by the end of December, three months post having COVID.
Trump’s decision to quietly receive the vaccine, without public fanfare, contrasts sharply with his successor and predecessors. President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were each vaccinated on live television in December, and former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton volunteered in December to get their Covid-19 vaccines on camera to promote public confidence in the vaccine’s safety.
Because those presidents believe in both science and safety. They also want to save lives. It is not about them. It is about the American people. Fundamentally, such an attitude was always the difference between Trump, Obama, Bush, and Clinton. Whether we agreed with them, loved them, or hated them, they all seemed to put the country’s interest ahead of their own, even if they were wrong in their decision.
Wait, so trump lied about being vaccinated? https://t.co/4FYVPy7rgG

The country was upset and perplexed.
I bet he didn’t tell anyone because he thinks photos of people getting shots in the arm looks week or something.

I guess technically he did lie – he just didn't tell anybody. Doctors recommend not taking shot for at least 3 months after having COVID??? So when did Donald Trump & Melania claim to have COVID??? #LiesLiesandMoreLies

In his video message from the White House, a mask-less Trump tells the American public: "Don't be afraid of it. You're going to beat it."
Then he secretly gets vaccinated. Everyone that lost family members after this speech should sue for wrongful death. https://t.co/2K3ksSYCNe— grumpy grandmom (@clutter_bug49) March 1, 2021
The picture above should become THE picture of the Trump administration, he looks so foolish, trying to look so tough. He also looks like a man who thinks he is a fascist dictator.
