Donald Trump Jr. and girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle have purchased property in Jupiter, Florida, reports say and intend to set down roots there, according to Raw Story. [1]
But as I wrote earlier, [2] local people aren’t happy about the high-profile couple moving in, and are worried their presence could cause “safety issues,” The Miami Herald [3] reports.
The couple paid [2] $9.7 million for a six-bedroom home in Admiral’s Cove in Jupiter on March 31, The Palm Beach Post [2] reports, adding that Guilfoyle also snagged the seven-bedroom house next door, located on the same lot for $10 million on March 24.
The couple has been considering the gated community since January, soon after the deadly riots at the Capitol building, and when word got out that Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle had obtained contracts to purchase the homes on adjacent lots, would-be neighbors took their concerns to the property owners’ association.
Folks were understandably concerned that the high-profile couple would bring unwanted attention to their waterfront homes, resulting in the aforementioned safety issues.
“About half have concerns about safety,” said Peter Moore, the general manager of the property owners’ association. “The others have political concerns with what’s happened in the last couple of weeks.”
In a message to the association, one resident noted Guilfoyle’s reputation preceded her, writing “there are news reports detailing improper behavior by Ms. Guilfoyle while employed at Fox News and news reports of possible criminal investigations of Donald Trump Jr.”
Another resident said dissension will likely result if the couple moves in.
“I believe their membership would bring undesirable notoriety to the club, harm to our reputation, and have the potential for creating disharmony,” the resident noted.
But money talks a powerful language and, and the neighbors’ concerns have been brushed aside, meaning that Trump Jr. and Guilfoyle will soon call the place home whether residents want them to or not.
I’m sad for these neighbors, who have come to enjoy their quiet lives because it sure looks like that’s soon to change.
