Matt Gaetz’s Ex-Girlfriend is Terrified Her Phone Calls are Taped and She’s Now a Witness to a Serious Crime

The rope around Matt Gaetz and his possible criminal activities simply continues to tighten. Gaetz is used to being arrested and charged with crimes – he’s been down that road, having racked up a shocking and infuriating number of DUI arrests. But Gaetz comes from an extremely wealthy family and seemed destined for power himself. DUI charges have a way of disappearing in such circumstances. Many did. But this would be the first time that Gaetz is in a situation where even being a member of Congress won’t help him. Indeed, it might well make it worse.

Gaetz once went on Tucker Carlson’s show and demanded that the FBI release the tapes of a guy trying to extort his father. “The guy” in this case happens to also be involved in obtaining women (and girls) for Matt Gaetz, tax collector Joel Greenberg. Gaetz apparently doesn’t realize that just because Greenburg might (might) have committed extortion, that does not ipso facto mean that Gaetz did not commit a crime. Indeed, we just learned this week that Greenberg has been cooperating with the feds for over a year, which was bad enough news.

Now the feds appear to have a second witness, the one that can square the circle, or however the saying goes, the girl involved.

The revelation raises the possibility that federal prosecutors have two top cooperating witnesses: the woman who was an alleged s*x-trafficking victim when she was a minor and the Gaetz associate already indicted for that crime, former Seminole County Tax Collector Joel Greenberg.

Until now, there were signs the alleged s*x-trafficking victim was not cooperating with federal authorities. In August, prior to Greenberg’s s*x-trafficking indictment, Greenberg said in a WhatsApp chat with another friend that he was paying for her attorney at the time and that she was resistant to cooperating with investigators.

Thus, it appears, the feds have one witness saying “I set it up,” and another witness saying, “I was the one there,” and that leaves Gaetz very little room to maneuver. Typical FBI. This is one of the reasons they might be the best law enforcement agency on earth.

But another ex-girlfriend of Gaetz is worried that she’ll be caught up in all this because of a few phone calls that might have been taped:
But two of her friends, who declined to be identified publicly because of the sensational nature of the case, say she now suspects she was being set up when the alleged victim and another woman involved in the case called her to discuss the lawmaker in what she fears might have been a recorded conference call. The call took place sometime after Greenberg was indicted for the s@x crime in August. The friends did not provide details about exactly what was discussed, but one recounted that Gaetz’s ex-girlfriend said she was opposed to talking to authorities and is now worried that prosecutors might try to charge her with obstructing justice in order to get to Gaetz.

We doubt she has reason to worry that she will be charged with obstruction for simply not wanting to talk to the authorities. There are very few circumstances when one “must” talk to the police. What she cannot do is lie to the authorities or destroy evidence to protect herself, knowing it might be evidence of a crime.

Still, it is obvious that the heat keeps rising around Gaetz. Moreover, the actual truth would reveal something even uglier than we already know – which is another thing that would be “typical FBI,” and why they’re so good.
