None of Trump’s Senior Cabinet Members are Able to Find Jobs and It’s Quite Humiliating for Them

Earlier this year I reported that many former staffers in the Trump administration were unable to find jobs after spending four years in what was unquestionably the most racist, hateful, homophobic, and corrupt administrations in recent history. Now, after nearly four months since ex-President Donald Trump left office, The Washington Post reports that none of Trump’s senior cabinet members have found work, even after all this time.

According to the Post:

“Several former Trump officials told The Washington Post that the job climate was even more difficult than they believed it would be, and both former vice president Mike Pence and Trump have kept a coterie of staffers still on their payrolls, some because they have not been able to find other work.”

Apparently, it takes a long time for the Trump taint to wash off.

Former Treasury Secretary Elaine Chao has failed to find any major corporations willing to hire her, Queerty reports. Former attorney general Bill Barr is also having trouble, and although he was once “a fixture on elite corporate boards,” even his former law firm won’t hire him back.

The same goes for former secretary of state Mike Pompeo, who has spent months trying, but “has yet to take on any name-brand corporate work,” and is so far, just working as a Fox News contributor. Then there’s Trump’s fourth chief of staff, Mark Meadows, who is so desperate for work he’s even considering working for the Trump Organization.

According to the Post, the job offers just aren’t rushing for these former Trump administration officials.

“While the small numbers make comparisons difficult, corporations don’t seem to have an immediate interest in other top Trump administration alums either. Roughly half of the S&P 500 companies have filed their 2021 investor disclosure reports, listing a total of 108 new or prospective board members, according to data from Insightia, which provides information to shareholders. No Trump Cabinet officials who served in the final quarter of his term are among those nominated.”

Indeed it seems corporations won’t touch these people with the proverbial 10-foot pole.

“Boards don’t need trouble or criticism,” said one headhunter. “If you want to stay away from all that potential tarnish, that’s easy: you just don’t go near it.”

All I can say is if you work for a president who spews racism, misogynism, and stokes hatred, enough so to start a deadly insurrection it sticks to your reputation like that toilet paper on the bottom of Trump’s shoe. And you deserve what you get.
