People Outraged After Fox News Tries to Blame Meghan and Harry for Prince Philip’s Passing

With the passing of Britain’s Prince Philip at the age of 99, Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade found a convoluted way to blame Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex for his death by wondering aloud whether her interview with Oprah Winfrey had something to do with it.

But preposterous claims are nothing new to Fox News hosts, who apparently spend a lot of time speculating about Markle and her husband Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.

The interview, conducted earlier this year, stirred media controversy after Markle revealed at least one member of the royal family wasn’t happy about the idea of having a non-white baby in the family, Raw Story reports. So of course Kilmeade just had to speculate on whether this may have led to the prince’s death.

“If you factor in this, there are reports that he was enraged after the interview and the fallout of the interview,” Kilmeade said in reference to the prince. “So here he is trying to recover and he gets hit with that.”

Prince Philip was hospitalized earlier this year for an undisclosed infection and there is no evidence to even suggest Markle’s comments to Winfrey contributed to his death. Frankly, it’s absurd that anyone would think this interview led to the elderly prince’s death. He was 99-years-old, for crying in the beer! I mean, this suggestion is ridiculous, even by Fox News standards.

Even so, Kilmeade couldn’t resist referencing Piers Morgan, who was also famously upset over Winfrey’s interview with the Duke and Duchess.

“Just think about this,” Kilmeade said. “Piers Morgan was saying on his morning show which he famously walked off of, is like really? He’s in the hospital. Your grandfather is in the hospital. You know he’s not doing well. Is this really the time you have to put out this interview. And evidently, it definitely added to his stress.”

How typical of Fox News to do something like this. And Kilmeade is well-known for making some really outlandish remarks but trying to connect this man’s death to something Meghan Markle said back in March is a huge stretch even by Fox News standards.
