Ted Cruz Refuses to Continue Wearing a Mask in Capitol Building Because of ‘Virtue Signaling’

It seems to us that we now have enough evidence to make a direct correlation between being those who care enough about other people that they’re willing to help a little and those that simply don’t give a fck.

Guess what? The guy who winged off to Cancun while his state (and his dog) froze to death – some literally – is part of that group that doesn’t care enough about other people to even make a slight effort, endure a slight inconvenience, to possibly help others. Ted Cruz has announced that he’s done with masks because MAGAs don’t wear masks, Donald Trump showed them the way. Had Donald Trump worn masks everywhere (he’s a germophobe!), Ted Cruz would wear a mask in bed with his wife.

Back to the connection. It sure seems like Democrats as a group have no real problem enduring a small inconvenience in an attempt to help keep others safe. they also seem more comfortable relying on science. But Republicans almost universally gnash their teeth about the unendurable pain put upon them if asked to actually do something very minor to possibly help others.

Which party takes pride in calling itself the true Christian party?

So Ted Cruz has a message for you if you want him to wear a mask in the Capitol: “Fck You,” From CNN:

“At this point I’ve been vaccinated. Everybody working in the Senate has been vaccinated,” the Texas Republican told CNN, even though many staff members and reporters in the Capitol have not been vaccinated.

Yeah, but they’re just staffers and media, right Ted?

Cruz defended his decision to drop using the mask even after being told that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is still recommending people who have been vaccinated wear masks in public.

The people at the CDC are just assholes trying to control Ted Cruz’s life and Ted will not be inconvenienced by science or compassion.

In fact, the current CDC guidance says because “we’re still learning how vaccines will affect the spread of COVID-19” it’s important that “after you’ve been fully vaccinated against COVID-19, you should keep taking precautions — like wearing a mask, staying 6 feet apart from others, and avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces—in public places until we know more.”

Ted doesn’t care about what they know. He cares about what he knows. He knows he doesn’t give a shit.

Vaccines are not 100% effective and the CDC and National Institutes of Health say there is no way for a fully vaccinated person to know if they are perhaps carrying an asymptomatic infection that could spread to someone else.

Sounds mostly like the other person’s problem, right, Ted?

Cruz complained that the CDC will want people to wear masks for the next 300 years.

He added, “Not just one mask, two three, four. You can’t have too many masks. How much virtue do you want to signal? This is just dumb.”

We don’t see wearing a mask as “virtue signaling.” We see it as “public health protection.” We see not wearing a mask as “I don’t give a fck signaling.” And we suspect Ted desperately wants to send that signal. He might write it on his maskeless face, dye his beard.

When the reporter noted to Cruz that he and other members of the press corps had not been vaccinated, Cruz responded: “At this point, virtually everyone here has been vaccinated. And everyone has the opportunity.”

Fact check. Incorrect. So, not only does Ted not care enough to do one simple small thing (that’s hardly even noticeable anymore) but he’s not willing to actually look into the facts, either – he’d rather presume what he wants to presume.

We sense a difference between the parties and Ted Cruz is the best example of “one side.”
