Trump Attacks the ‘Politically Correct’ Supreme Court by Crying Yet Again About 2020 Elections

In one of history’s tragic ironies, Trump forever bragged about getting his “three” Justices on the Supreme Court. It was an “accomplishment” with ramifications that will ripple through this country’s jurisprudence for generations, wildly swinging the country to the right on voting, reproductive freedoms, and a narrowing of the all-important 14th Amendment. Despite the fact that the Federalist Society damn near made each selection for Donald Trump, and despite the fact that McConnell made two of the picks happen (the stolen seat from Obama, and the rushed seat from RBG), Trump took the credit. Of course, he did.

So it is with some amount of schadenfreude that we put up Trump’s latest statement on the court. It is ostensibly about Biden threatening to “pack the court” but Trump just wanted yet another vehicle to relitigate the decision to not hear the Texas case against the states that Trump lost (and only states that Trump lost). Trump continually frames it as the Supreme Court refusing to hear from the “president of the United States” even though “the president of the United States” was not a party to that case. Say it again – Trump was not a party in the one case that made it to the Supreme Court. Trump was a party to about fifty other cases that hit lower courts and were thrown out due to lack of evidence. The “president” did have standing in dozens and dozens of cases. He just lost.

We have parts of Trump’s statement, brought to us by Mediaite:

“Believe it or not, the President of the United States was not allowed to be heard based on ‘no standing,’ not based on the FACTS,” Trump says in his statement attacking “our politically correct Supreme Court.”

He goes on to say they will “get what they deserve—an unconstitutionally elected group of Radical Left Democrats who are destroying our Country.”

Trump’s statement also goes after Mitch McConnell, days after calling him a “dumb son of a bitch,” saying, “With leaders like Mitch McConnell, they are helpless to fight. He didn’t fight for the Presidency, and he won’t fight for the Court. If and when this happens, I hope the Justices remember the day they didn’t have the courage to do what they should have done for America.”

It is just so fitting that even now, Donald Trump doesn’t have the slightest idea as to how government works. He is just so damned furious that he couldn’t “force” his way to victory through “strength.” The bottom line is that this man hates laws and democracy. Given that the SCOTUS’s primary job is holding up the laws (whether done well or not), it is unsurprising that Trump would detest the institution.
