Capitol Police Drop Bombshell: Send Letter Expressing Their ‘Profound Disappointment’ With Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy

One way to get the American people behind a cause, at least a cause that appeared to be political, is having a group of people who are decidedly non-political take a position against those who are clearly posturing for self-gain. It makes it that much better when it comes from what is supposed to be one of society’s most revered professions, law enforcement. And it’s particularly powerful when it comes from the Capitol Hill police, left to fend for themselves that day, and they want to know why.

Today, Capitol Hill law enforcement, the ones who suffered the most under the MAGA assault, called out the GOP pols resisting an investigation into January 6th. Under official stationery, the officers served Mitch McConnell and Kevin McCarthy a letter expressing their deep disappointment in them as people, never mind Americans. Per Letter attached below:

“On Jan. 6 where some officers served their last day in the US Capitol Police uniform, and not by choice, we would hope that the Members whom we took an oath to protect, would at the very minimum, support an investigation to get to the bottom of EVERYONE responsible and hold then 100 percent accountable no matter the title or position they hold or held.”

It is inconceivable that some of the Members we protect would downplay the events of Jan. 6. Members’ safety was dependent upon the heroic actions of USCP. It is a privileged assumption for Members to have the point of view that ‘It wasn’t that bad.’ That privilege exists because the brave men and women of the USCP protected you, the Members.”

It is inconceivable that some people in our society think so much of themselves, and a monstrous narcissist in Florida, that they’re willing to look these people in the eye, every day, and let them down. It is as painful as it is shameful.

We should all feel the shame this brings upon us as Americans.
