Cheney Declares War on Trump After Ouster: ‘Will Do All I Can to Ensure He’s Never Near the Oval Office Again’

As we’ve reported for the last week (along with many others), despite the fact that Liz Cheney is diametrically opposed to everything every progressive voter values, she is now considered a progressive when it comes to saving democracy in this country and that makes her a key and appreciated ally. She is also fearless and shows no signs of backing down, indeed her platform now seems bigger and she’s just ramping up.

Today, the party that still gives aid and comfort to Matt Gaetz, Lauren Boebert, Paul Gosar, and Madison Cawthorne just kicked Liz Cheney, the conservative’s conservative, a Cheney’s Cheney, from her leadership post, all in favor of someone far less conservative and far less experienced in Elise Stefanik. Cheney did not appreciate their reasoning.

Cheney walked out of the room, found a bank of microphones, and then went off in a way that shocked even us:

Going forward, the nation needs a strong Republican Party. The nation needs a party that is based upon fundamental principles of conservatism and I am committed and dedicated to ensuring that that’s how this party goes forward and I plan to lead the fight to do that.

I will do everything I can to ensure that the former president never again gets anywhere near the Oval Office. We have seen the danger that he continues to provoke with his language. We have seen his lack of commitment and dedication to the Constitution. And I think it is very important that we make sure whomever we elect is somebody who will be faithful to the Constitution.

WOW. And she wasn’t done:

We cannot let the former president drag us backward and make us complicit in his efforts to unravel our democracy. Down that path lies our destruction, and potentially the destruction of our country.

I will be leading the fight to restore our party and our nation to conservative principles, to defeating socialism, to defending our republic, to making the GOP worthy again of being the party of Lincoln.

Boom?

And as we asked yesterday; Where are you, Ben Sasse? Susan Collins? Lisa Murkowski? Mitch McConnell? The only two from which we’ve heard are Mitt Romney and Joni Ernst. We will wait for others, and wait, and wait, and wait.

****
Peace, y’all
