Another day, another rant from Donald J. Trump. This time he’s steamed up at congressional GOP leaders in a statement Wednesday from his Save America Pac. It’s a bit weird he shared it here instead of on his recently launched “From The Desk Of” media platform, but then very little of what Trump does makes sense, so there’s that.

While Trump still has a vise-like grip on the Republican Party he doesn’t necessarily have a monopoly on their sympathies. So now, perhaps in an effort to embed himself more deeply, he launched an attack on House GOP Conference Chair Liz Cheney, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, and even faithful lapdog, Mike Pence, Mediaite reports.

Trump lambasted Cheney as a “warmonger,” then blasted her as having “virtually no support left” in Wyoming, her home state. All because she (factually) stated there was no election fraud in the 2020 election. In his usual fact-free manner, Trump asserted evidence “shows the exact opposite” but cited no specifics. Remember, this is Trump after all.

Sen. McConnell was his next target, and Trump attacked him for being “gutless and clueless” and blamed him for the loss of two Georgia Senate seats that Democrats subsequently won. But several political experts, including Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, put the blame squarely where it belongs — squarely on Trump’s doughy shoulders, especially since his repeated claims of voter fraud dampened Republican voter turn-out for the run-off elections.

While Trump has made his feelings known lately about his former Vice President Mike Pence, especially since Pence certified Joe Biden as president against Trump’s wishes, his diatribe this time was rather surprising. This time around the former president suggested that had Pence relayed information on six states back to state legislatures, “we would have had a far more different Presidential result.”

Fortunately, we didn’t have a “different Presidential result.” Trump’s complaining aside, many states, including Georgia, recounted votes. Georgia, in fact, did the recount by hand, and in each of these states, Biden was certified the winner. Trump’s angry because he’s not going to get his way this time, so he attacks people by writing the garbage below.

“Warmonger Liz Cheney, who has virtually no support left in the Great State of Wyoming, continues to unknowingly and foolishly say that there was no election fraud in the 2020 Presidential Election, when in fact, the evidence, including no Legislative approvals as demanded by the U.S. Constitution, shows the exact opposite. Had Mike Pence referred the information on six states (only need two) back to State Legislatures, and had gutless and clueless Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (he blew two seats in Georgia that should have never been lost) fought to expose all the corruption that was presented at the time, with more found since, we would have had a far different Presidential result, and our Country would not be turning into a socialist nightmare! Never give up!”

The unruly mob that led the Jan. 6 insurrection didn’t want to “give up” either and I remember some calling for Pence to be hanged as the riot turned deadly. That led to Trump’s second impeachment, where he was acquitted, and yes Republicans (especially McConnell) dropped the ball here.

So maybe McConnell really is “gutless.”
