Jared Kushner’s Trip to Abu Dhabi This Month Cost Americans $13,000 Because … Trump Said So

It is unheard of for family members of ex-presidents to get Secret Service protection after the person has left office. The original need for protection, fear of someone taking a president’s family member hostage and manipulating the nation, is now gone. Whoever might be the son or daughter of the ex-president is no more valuable a target than any wealthy kid, certainly less than a celebrity. It is even unusual for the adult children of presidents to get Secret Service protection while the president is in office, but Trump’s did. They did for one reason only, Trump ordered it and thus it was so, according to The Daily Beast.

What we cannot figure out is why he was not billed for the extra protection “ordered.” People may find it odd but presidents do get billed for some stuff. They have to pay for groceries (which are then cooked for them), they have to pay for dry cleaning, designer-type clothes, vacation rentals, a few other things, and their personal legal fees. So if Trump wanted extended protection of his family, why didn’t he pay for it? It’s not like there aren’t security services on earth.

Were that not bad enough. In the days before Trump left office, Trump ordered that his adult children continue to get Secret Service protection for six months. This means that when Jared Kushner went to Abu Dhabi recently, it cost all of us $13,000. It has been reported that Jared and Ivanka made $640 million during their term in the White House. In the old formula, when one is really wealthy, if they were living off the interest of their interest, Jared and Ivanka would still make $6.4 million in an average year. One would think that sheer humiliation alone would be sufficient for Jared to at least reimburse the government, if not insist that Secret Service resources are better used elsewhere and hire his own security.

But wait, we forgot, they were grifters right up until the end, and past the end! And, Jared, what were you doing over there, my man?
