Louisiana GOP Rep States Vaccines Can Make You Very, Very Sick and You Can Possibly Die from It

The MAGAs made a seamless transition from their anti-mask stance, which led to hundreds of thousands of deaths. No one will ever know the number with exact certainty. And from there, they rejected vaccinations, as if they have wanted to die from COVID from the beginning. Or, they wanted to get it and not die, just to own the libs. Trump showed us! From the hospital to which he was rushed. But it is notable how much more accepted the unacceptable has become in Right-Wing ecosystem. Tucker Carlson can spout off dangerous nonsense on primetime television with no fear, so long as the ratings stay up. And now – this is unbelievable – Republicans in state legislatures can utter the type of insane stuff that once might have forced them into retirement. From Rawstory:

“Rep. Valarie Hodges, a Denham Springs Republican, claimed her doctor’s friend, who is also a doctor, told patients not to take the COVID vaccine because they could get “very very sick and possibly die from it.” She said she’s worried the U.S. will require vaccines for certain forms of travel,” reported Sam Karlin for The Advocate. “Aly Neel, a spokesperson for the Louisiana Department of Health, said Louisiana has not had a confirmed death tied to the COVID-19 vaccines. Severe side effects from all three vaccines authorized for use in the U.S. are rare.”

In recent weeks, Hodges has also sought to advance a bill that would be taught in schools — which critics say is a retread of a shelved bill by Rep. Ray Garofalo, a lawmaker who landed in hot water last month by claiming schools should teach the “good” parts of slavery. That would require subjects like American exceptionalism and national sovereignty.

America doesn’t seem very exceptional when it’s the nation that has the greatest access to vaccines and yet half of Americans are too stupid to realize that – yes, some people do get sick for a day or two, but no one dies after having the vaccine, no one goes to the hospital, nearly no one even knows if they’ve had it.

And we love, her doctor’s friend who is also a doctor… Only in America.
