Maine Rioter Finally Nabbed for Capitol Siege: Was Wearing ‘Biden Sucks, Kamala Swallows’ T-Shirt

The FBI has arrested and charged another rioter from the Capitol. The process involves an appearance before a judge to determine whether he should remain incarcerated before their trial, and that is what happened here, according to News Center Maine:

A Gorham Maine man was arrested Thursday on federal charges for his alleged involvement in the deadly January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

According to a criminal complaint filed by FBI Boston agent Kristina Troxel, the FBI was notified Jan. 11 by an online tipster that Hendrix was overheard talking about the U.S. Capitol and showed video from there saying he had been pepper-sprayed

Nicholas Patrick Hendrix, 34, is charged with four misdemeanors:

Knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority:

Disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds

Violent entry and disorderly conduct on Capitol grounds

Parade, demonstrate, or picket in any of the Capitol buildings

The four charges are misdemeanors, a significant aspect of the case, and almost surely reflecting the fact that Hendrix didn’t do anything violent to get into the building, nor did he do anything destructive once he was in the building.

And yet the conditions of his bail reflect those of a judge concerned about a person with enough MAGA in him to bus down and get into the Capitol. The judge has to weigh whether this man could still pose a danger once out in society again. All defendants face conditions on release and some of Hendrix reflect normal conditions, some seem directed directly at the man as a MAGA:

As one can see, most of the conditions simply follow those that would apply to anyone with four misdemeanor charges. But most people facing mere misdemeanors aren’t ordered to mental health counseling, a specific order to not travel to D.C. even if he got permission from an officer. And, what we consider the most MAGA-specific. Any contact with law enforcement, even – it seems – if he simply talks to one in a park, or is asked to move his car from a zone blocked off for a parade. It must be reported.

It would seem that the judge in this case, even though it involves only misdemeanors, knows the exact type of danger people like Hendrix represent.
