People in Trump World are Worried About Ivanka and Her Getting Caught Up in Rudy Giuliani’s Mess

In the aftermath of the FBI’s raid on Rudy Giuliani’s apartment and office, the situation for some in former President Donald Trump’s inner circle is looking dicier. Indeed, there are fears that some within that circle may be next in the firing line, News.com.au [1] reports.

Insiders already understand that the raid sent a clear message from the FBI on what may come next but they also believe Trump’s former attorney won’t remain loyal and is likely to spill the beans to cover his own hide and may even snitch on Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr., and even the former president himself.

It surely couldn’t happen to a more deserving group of criminals.

Last Wednesday’s search warrant, executed by federal investigators at Giuliani’s Manhattan digs resulted in the seizure of computers and files, as they try to suss out whether the former New York City mayor engaged in illegal business dealings with Ukrainian officials.

But some Trump allies also told CNN [2] there’s more behind the FBI’s raid than meets the eye and the event is an orchestrated attempt to send a message to those within the ex-president’s inner circle — something they say has definitely proved effective, igniting fears among some who thought they wouldn’t wind up as part of the firing line.

“This was a show of force that sent a strong message to a lot of people in Trump’s world that other things may be coming down the pipeline,” said one Trump adviser.

“I can’t for the life of me think why you would need to send seven FBI agents to go and collect a cellphone and laptop.”

Giuliani served as Trump’s personal lawyer when he was impeached [3] in December 2019 when he sought political help from Ukraine.

It looks for all the world like the investigation may center around Giuliani’s doing paid work for Ukrainian businessmen while also seeking political help, a clear violation of U.S. laws against unregistered lobbying for foreign entities, something that he denies, News.com.au reports.

And according to former U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara, there’s a good chance Giuliani may be charged; something that could entail a prison sentence. That in itself could break Giuliani’s resolve. Even the most loyal people can break under the pressure of a looming prison sentence. After all, that’s what happened to former Trump adviser Michael Cohen, who has a few thoughts on the matter.

He believes Giuliani will turn on Trump in order to save himself.

Cohen, Trump’s former “fixer” who was sentenced to three years in prison after pleading guilty to tax evasion and campaign finance violations, said he’s absolutely certain Giuliani is running scared.

In an interview with CNN Thursday, Cohen noted:

“And it’s rightfully so that he’s nervous because he knows the power of the SDNY (Southern District of New York) is unlimited, and they use that power.”

“Prior to Donald becoming President, Rudy didn’t like Donald and Donald didn’t like Rudy,” Cohen added. “So do I think Rudy will give up Donald in a heartbeat? Absolutely. He certainly doesn’t want to follow my path down into a 36-month sentence.”

He also noted Giuliani more than likely “has no interest in going to prison and spending the golden years of life behind bars.” Cohen couldn’t help but note the irony behind this because the tactics used by the SDNY, in terms of obtaining a plea deal, were created by Giuliani 30 years ago.

“And it’s just ironic that the tactics that he created for that office are now going to be employed against him, in terms of making him plead guilty and, certainly, at the least, turning over information about Jared, Ivanka, and Don Jr., about Donald himself, about all of these individuals in that garbage can orbit of Donald Trump,” Cohen said.

“Who knows what Rudy was involved with? What we’re going to find out is, there are text messages, there are emails, there are different types of communication apps that the FBI knows how to re-establish, even if Rudy, who I don’t think is technological, tried to delete or what have you.”

Cohen said he thinks there’s every possibility that has investigators look into Ukrainian conversations, the case may blow wide open as more connections are revealed. There’s also the fact that Giuliani is erratic and drinks too much, he added.

“We have no idea how expansive that this investigation is going to ultimately reveal itself because Rudy’s an idiot,” Cohen said.

In all likelihood, Trump is really sweating over this situation because “Donald Trump cares only about one person, and I say it all the time,” he told CNN.

“He cares about only himself. So, he doesn’t care that he raided Rudy’s home. He doesn’t care that they raided Rudy’s law office. What is it going to do to affect me is all he’s thinking right now. What did stupid Rudy do? What did stupid Rudy write? What sort of text messages?”

Sounds about like Trump. Maybe he won’t care that his own kids are being thrown under the bus as long as there’s some way he can save himself.
