Joy Behar Makes Shocking ‘Joke’ After NFL Player Comes Out: ‘Penetrating the Endzone’

What got into Joy Behar? What was she thinking? The day after the first NFL player comes out as gay she says something about endzone penetration? The video is below, but the story is on Twitter and this needs an introduction.

First many in the LGBQT community have been supporting Joy today noting that bad jokes aren’t what scare them. Many are not offended. They are offended by hatred and the possible loss of their rights.

Yes, understandable.

But the problem with Joy’s statement isn’t so much that gay people feel threatened by her as it is that the people who really do intend to take away LGBTQ rights can use it as an example and then when they are caught saying something or doing something wholly inappropriate, they can point toward Behar and argue that there is a massive double standard and that they have a right to say what they want without being “canceled.”

To review the facts that are well known by now, Carl Nassib came out as the first active NFL player to announce that he was gay. It was a brave leap in a culture that is perhaps the least accepting of LGBTQ Americans, outside of the evangelical movement. He will pave the way for others. He was almost uniformly supported by the NFL.

Why Joy would… Watch:

And she did apologize at the end of the show, but, the damage was already done:

And look at what it did on Fox:

This, below:

We dearly hope that she issues a heartfelt and sincere apology tomorrow. But the bell has been rung and it’s out there and already being used.

What was she thinking? But, we should add some perspective on the way out.
