LOL, Trump Abandoned His New Blog Because He Was So Sad No One Was Reading It

Former President Donald Trump’s blog turned out to be the very definition of a “flash in the pan” [1] since he shuttered [2] it Tuesday night with little fanfare after less than a month, Raw Story [3] notes. And Charlie Sykes, editor-in-chief of The Bulwark was on hand for its glorious denouement.

In an interview with MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace on Wednesday, Sykes said he thinks the ex-president killed his From The Desk Of Donald Trump blog because he couldn’t handle the lack of interest in the page.

Sykes was definitely here for it, and couldn’t resist having a good laugh while commenting on Trump’s insecurity.

“Could I mention the contrast of what you talk about — having a moment of contrast today where you have the successes of the Biden administration where the economy is coming back, you have the needles in the arms, and down in the Orange Versailles in Mar-a-Lago the president canceled — has just canceled — his blog because apparently, he was so upset that he was mocked because no one was reading it. So it’s a moment.”

Sykes’ remarks were preceded by Wallace’s citing impressive poll numbers for President Joe Biden and the efforts he undertook to deliver the COVID-19 stimulus, nationwide vaccines, and reopening the country to rebuild the economy.

Even so, he offered a warning.

“I would say this,” Sykes said. “Despite the good news that you have mentioned, it is still early. There are advantages that Republicans are counting on including, reapportionment and some things that I think the Democrats need to keep an eye on. There are some challenges coming for the Biden administration. Keeping inflation in check. Whether we’re going to see a continued uptick in crime, particularly urban murder rates. I certainly would caution Democrats not to underestimate the impact of the defund the police issue in swing districts.”

Sykes also agreed with White House Chief of Staff Ron Klain, who said that the way the administration will succeed is by showing Americans the results.

Wallace added the best way for the administration to keep on a positive path is to prevent the GOP from “cheating” by rigging the situation against Democrats with voter suppression bills, many of which have already been introduced across the country.

Perhaps Trump is pondering this as he sits in his Versailles and pouts over his moribund blog.
