Scarborough Rolls Into Laughter Trolling Trump Over DeSantis’ Winning Poll: ‘Trump’s Impotent … Silenced!’

We know that they’re just trolling Trump because very little of what the Morning Joe crew had to say this morning makes any sense unless they were just trying to get under Trump’s skin.

It is obvious because they were discussing a completely meaningless poll taken at the Faith and Freedom Coalition Conference this last weekend in Orlando. In a straw poll gauging interest in who the attendees believed should be the GOP nominee in 2024, or who they think will be the nominee (We aren’t sure how it was polled), DeSantis narrowly beat Trump.

It sounds meaningful if it was a reliable read on any drifting in the MAGA-GOP. But there are a couple of caveats. One, given that the poll was taken in Orlando, we suspect it had a major “Florida bias,” whether DeSantis’s people placed it or not. Second, DeSantis doesn’t control every MAGA in Washington. DeSantis likely wouldn’t even run to oppose Trump. Only a “never Trumper” could consider running and not be banished.

The folks at Morning Joe know these simple truths. But why let that get in the way of needling the thinnest skinned president in history? Especially when Trump went so low against Joe and Mika?

Joe led off:

“I don’t know, it seems like it’s Ron DeSantis’ party — any other news?. I mean, he owns this place. Why don’t we just put ‘mission accomplished’ up at the RNC. It’s over, it is over.”

If the context didn’t give it away, Joe’s opening line certainly did. The BBC’s Katty Kay followed Joe up with the biggest roundhouse thrown. Try to imagine how Trump would react to an extremely attractive and sophisticated woman calling him “impotent” on national television?

“How does Trump try and take it back? He’s silenced. He’s sort of impotent at this point — he can’t tweet, can’t go out on Facebook.”

Michael Steele, former RNC Chair, wasn’t about to miss a shot:

“He propped up DeSantis, talked about Desantis being his running mate in 2024 and DeSantis may be calling him, ‘Will you be my cabinet secretary?”

And Joe finished it all off:

“Help me, man. He gave DeSantis his start, DeSantis wouldn’t be here but for him, and now all these people are saying it’s DeSantis’ party. Unfortunately for [Trump] it looks like DeSantis’ party.”

Of course, everyone knows, it’s not “DeSantis’s party” until DeSantis can tell Trump not to run and get backed up by McConnell and McCarthy. Even then, we seriously doubt that it would do anything but splinter the party. No, they were just having a good time f’ing Trump around. One has to get a good start to the morning.
