“He was our constant, cherished companion during the last 13 years,” a message from the President and First Lady said. “Even as Champ’s strength waned in his last months,” they noted, “when we came into a room, he would immediately pull himself up, his tail always wagging, and nuzzle us for an ear scratch or a belly rub.”
We are not here to say that the loss of a dog equals the loss of a child. That, however, does not mean that the loss of a dog doesn’t hurt, deeply. All dogs die in childhood, no matter how old, because that’s a dog’s job. They are children that never grow up. If one has a dog that is a member of the family, one knows what we’re talking about. So, no – the Bidens are not mourning Champ like he did Beau or his late wife and daughter, but that doesn’t mean they’re not in mourning.
But remember, for many MAGAs, the cruelty is the point. Many of them are being cruel and we suspect that there aren’t as many dog lovers on the Right as the left. That whole feeling/emotional stuff.
So even though we’re sure that some MAGAs out there own dogs and feel care and love for them, we’re still dubious. We think the fact that Trump hates dogs is just so deliciously perfect that one need not say anything more. Most of us live our lives knowing that we don’t deserve dogs. They love, through richness/poverty, happiness/depression, tired or active, they are loyal. No wonder Trump hates them, the dog would be a constant reminder of his failures.
So is anyone surprised that the MAGAs are the type that would mock the Biden’s mourning their dog? Before anyone says that we would, too, if Trump lost his dog, we’ve already said, it’s a non-issue, and we’re not convinced Trump could “mourn” anything but the loss of his money or future. Maybe Ivanka. But if Mike and Karen Pence had a lifelong dog who passed? No way would we make light of it. It might be one of the only things to which we could’ve related.

Biden's dog being on top of the leaderboard all day is just another reason to not blindly trust white democrats either

I wonder what those in Nigeria would make of the outpourings regarding Joe Biden's dog that's died peacefully… https://t.co/p8ziiRyYFv

Everyone on Twitter expressing condolences for President Biden’s dog is sweet, but where was that empathy when they were tweeting “#covidtakehim ” when President Trump had COVID?
The hypocritical Left.

You get the picture, and those are just stupid ones we found when we had to grossly step over just one search. There are far more out there, far worse. We really cannot stomach them.
For parents out there that have dealt with the loss of a child, again – we’re not saying that the loss of a dog equals that type of loss. But it still hurts because most of us regard our dogs as family, the part that never leaves for college or gets married. Always playful, always loyal, always pleasantly confused, except in their love.
RIP, Champ. You were a very good boy.
