Fauci v. Rand Paul Again, But This Time Fauci is Furious: ‘If Anyone Is Lying Here, It Is YOU!’

If you are a MAGA politician (and thankfully you are not), you have a problem. What are you going to do about COVID? The Trump administration had made plenty of grave errors prior to COVID but the complete inadequacy in response to COVID is Trump’s most lasting legacy, which means it is the most lasting legacy for those MAGAs still within Trump’s orbit, which is all of them.

What to do?

There are two villains. There is China and then there is the CDC, which – of course, is part of the deep state. We have already heard elements of both. The MAGAs desperately want COVID pinned on a Chinese lab, which is possible, no one is sure yet. But it was surely an accidental release or why would they release it in their home city next to the lab? So if it was an accidental release, all the world could do is make China pay some fines for studying recombinant viruses without proper safety protocol. (The same could happen in the United States, research is research). Or, make China pay for allowing the wet markets to continue to operate without any regulations.

So with respect to China, yes – they are a bit of a villain here, especially depending upon what they were supposed to be studying and why.

The other villain, the CDC, continued to ask Americans to “do shit” and MAGAs don’t enjoy being told what to do, even if it is for their best. They also hate the CDC for “being wrong,” in that in the first months of a novel disease, the CDC wasn’t perfect.

So why not combine the two? Why not link the CDC with China and say that the CDC was paying for some of the research? Rand Paul was going down that road today when he had Dr. Fauci as a witness. Yet again, Paul went after the CDC and whether the CDC was giving grants to the Wuhan lab.

As you will see, Fauci answered with more anger than usual, “Senator, you have no idea what you’re talking about!” and, of course, “If there is anyone lying here, it is YOU!”

Angry.
