Louisiana Anti-Vax ER Nurse Who Told Others Not to Get the Vaccine, Dies Of COVID

While you might think health workers across the country have a good understanding of how the vaccines for COVID-19 work that’s apparently not always the case, and this has led to the death of an emergency room nurse.

Olivia Guidry, a nurse at Ochsner Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette Louisiana believed the vaccines somehow altered human DNA “at the tiniest molecular level” and that they were dangerous, The Acadiana Advocate [1] reports.

“This vaccine has been released using recombinant DNA technology faster than any vaccine in the world,” she wrote on Twitter last July. “It manipulates your DNA at the tiniest molecular level. Do. Not. Get. It. It’s not safe.”

That tweet has since been deleted, and as Twitter user HeartDoc Andrew notes, Guidry couldn’t have been more wrong.

“Actually the mRNA vaccines(i.e. Pfizer&Moderna but not J&J) do **not** “manipulate your DNA,” which is in the nucleus, but stay in the cytosol w/other RNAs. Nonetheless, I am sad to hear about your dying from COVID-19 b/c of your fear of mRNA vaccines.”

But as this comprehensive article in Forbes [4] points out, mRNA vaccines do not in any way alter DNA. It’s just not possible. However, social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter have turned into repositories for misinformation and therefore, the gullible, led by the ignorant help spread these wrong ideas along.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also has something to say [5] on this and notes:

“They [mRNA vaccines] do not affect or interact with our DNA in any way.”

Sadly, Guidry didn’t research this thoroughly and she paid with her life. At the same time, I have to wonder how many patients Guidry may have infected while she was asymptomatic?

She was diagnosed with the virus in early July, Joe.My.God. [6] reports and she fought the battle for days, spiking a fever and ultimately suffering a seizure. Guidry was placed in a medically induced coma Thursday but unfortunately passed away Saturday.

There’s been an outpouring of grief from friends, colleagues, and family members. It’s very sad that this woman paid such a high price for her own ignorance.
