Mega MAGA Pastor Joel Osteen Exposed: The False Prophet that Grossly Profits, While Taking Government Loans
While reading through Twitter we came across a tweet with allegations made against Joel Osteen, the Houston Mega-Church pastor and irredeemable Trumper. They seemed almost impossible to be true. Is anyone that blatant in their obvious con?
Joel Osteen got $4.4 million in forgivable PPP loans
Pays nothing in taxes
Drives a $325,000 Ferrari
Closed the doors of his church to those in need after a hurricane
You’re a false prophet who reaps false profits @JoelOsteen

No, no way, right? But to confirm whether each allegation was true, we did some research into each one and, well, take a guess as to what we found. They are all true, with the possible exception of a minimal amount of taxable income instead of no taxable income.

The rest are verifiably true.
Given $4.4 million in forgivable PPP loans? Yes. Set out in the link.
Many believe he pays next to nothing in taxes due to refusing to take a salary but enjoying profits in other ventures, from the same source:
Joel says that all of his income comes from book sales, and he earns an average of $3.5 million every year from said book sales and other religious events/ventures. Since he’s a member of the Lakewood Church, Joel can technically receive a bunch of allowances and stipends for his travel and lodging. These funds are not taxable.
Theoretically, he can also have credit cards and other expense accounts through the church that he is not obligated to pay taxes on. The Lakewood Church is a huge money-making entity that has around a $90 million annual budget, so it’s crazy to think that they don’t have a top legal and accounting team making sure that everything is on the up and up, especially on paper.
The Ferrari? Something most people would be mortified to own no matter what their profession, due to the obvious conspicuous consumption and self-indulgence. And yet, Olsteen finds a way to ignore that part of most people’s sense of shame, because he does own the Ferrari.
Closed doors to the sturdy church as shelter during Hurricane Harvey? Absolutely.
It would seem as though Olsteen is a false prophet profiting shamelessly off calling himself a prophet. This truly is about as disgusting as it gets… except it’s quite typical in MAGA world, almost expected. It is all about the con, everywhere, every time, whether in politics or religion.
