Trump Finally Goes Too Far for Many MAGAs, Calls Some Capitol Hill Cops ‘Liberal P*ssies’

Has he finally gone too far with his mouth that even for some of the MAGAs, especially women?

Yes, Trump was popular because he didn’t speak like other politicians (He couldn’t if he tried. Repeatedly, we were told that he spoke with about a 6th grade vocabulary). He always benefitted from what the MAGAs perceived as “real” or “genuine,” but what the liberals recognized to be a real, genuine, adolescent, narcissist, who would be a global danger if handed significant power.

So there is no question that the raw language never turned the MAGAs away, even if at times it made them uncomfortable. (Remember when he initially campaigned he would drop an f-bomb? The evangelicals put an end to that quite quickly). But when we talk about “MAGAs” now, we’re talking about a percentage that is increasingly male, as women drift further and further away. This is an entirely different country than we might have had if we did not have Stacy Abrahms rallying People of Color in Georgia and a small percentage of suburban white women around Atlanta that simply couldn’t take it anymore. Trump lives on razor thing margins as is. When he starts losing voting blocs consisting almost entirely of women… well.

So we wonder if in watching the Capitol Police Officers testify, whether some of those women who may have voted for Trump are now recoiling at how Trump describes these heroes. These discussions reported below are occurring behind closed doors. But if there’s one thing we know about Trump, it is that things that start behind closed doors end up said from the podium.

Besides, this quote is already in the Daily Beast:

Trump has told some people close to him that several of these officers strike him as weak and as “p*ssies,” according to two sources familiar with the comments and who described them independently. Trump has also maintained that these men seem “broke[n]” by the events of Jan. 6, and that they do not have the supposed toughness or character of the law enforcement officers who, on the whole nationally, still widely support [1] Trump and his policies.

Forget for a moment that Trump would shove a baby stroller between himself and someone trying to come near him. Calling the officers “p*ssies” is going to infuriate those suburban women (and plenty of men, true) that are on the fence with Trump. That is just one step too far, further than he’s gone before with respect to officers, even ones “opposed” to him.

Officer Fanone reminds many of these suburban women of their big brother, the one that often was overly critical, but also sweetly protective and usually right. Officer Dunn is like the uncle, the one with a twinkle in the eye but always ready to help. These are real people and though sometimes it’s easier for men to objectify other men, women are often far better at getting past the labels and seeing the people within.

So when Trump stomps around his club calling police officers attacked by mobs “p*ssies,” it seems to us to be just one step too far for another fraction of women MAGAs. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that anything Trump says matters, we actually think that this one does. This could hurt him far more than he knows.
