Eric Trump’s Lawyer Just Dumped Him as a Client and He Won’t Say Why So it’s Probably BAD NEWS

Forbes is reporting a strange new twist in the state of New York’s investigation and criminal charges against the Trump Organization. Eric Trump’s attorney fired Eric, or – if one must use a different phrase, “dropped Eric as a client.” The end result is the same.

There are lots of reasons for attorneys to withdraw from a case, even though Eric hasn’t been charged yet, primarily because the client runs out of money. We assume Eric did not run out of money. Thus, we’re left to speculate as to whether Eric was refusing to follow the most basic instructions an attorney would give him, which puts the attorney in a bad spot in front of the judge, where an attorney’s honesty is most important, or any number of other reasons. It is also possible Eric wanted someone else and his attorney simply filed the paperwork to withdraw, though it’s likely Eric would’ve had that next attorney ready.

Really, there’s no way to tell with any certainty. Perhaps the attorney just couldn’t stand Eric. ‘Seems as good a reason as any at this point. From Forbes:

Marc Mukasey of Mukasey Frenchman LLP informed a New York state Supreme Court judge in Manhattan that he was withdrawing from the case on Sept. 14. The move comes one day after a judge’s order to seal a stipulation between the parties was filed. Before that agreement, the docket shows no activity in this case since January. It’s not clear if there’s any connection between the agreement and Mukasey’s departure.

Mukasey declined to comment on the record for this story. He has represented Eric Trump in the case since it was filed in August 2020. Eric and representatives from the Trump Organization have not replied to inquiries.

We will likely never know the real answer. We do know that there is almost no chance that it’s a coincidence that Mukasey withdrew the day after the stipulation. It could be anything from the fact that the stipulation all but takes care of the work to be done to the fact that the stipulation made him physically ill.

Tough to tell.

We do know that on Monday Weiselberg’s attorney all but said new indictments were coming, making it a perfect time to make changes for whatever reason. Things should get interesting, sooner rather than later.
