GOP Strategist Calls Out Trump for Being Disgusting and Making 9/11 All About Himself

Donald Trump deserves all the scorn, ostracization, and humiliation that can be given due to his “commemoration” of the 20th Anniversary of 9/11.

Trump doesn’t like anything that isn’t all about him, where he isn’t the star of the show. It doesn’t matter if it’s another inauguration or the 9/11 ceremony. If he’s not president (where he can be the center of attention), he’s not going to go, even when every former president under 90 went to the ceremonies. Trump’s narcissism won’t let him appear at someone else’s funeral unless it is a simple “must” like George H.W. Bush.

Thus it was that what little Trump did to appear to care about the 20th anniversary, he did by making himself the center of attention. His 1:44 long video statement includes only 24 seconds actually about 9/11, the vast majority of the clip is about Afghanistan and how “It should never have happened,” and on and on, slamming Biden on the sacred day of unity. Never mind the fact that we’re back to 1500-2000 losing their lives per day again.

Today, on MSNBC, Susan Del Percio, the Republican strategist, went OFF:

“I expect him to go his own way. In all his tenure, Donald Trump has never tried to serve this country. He’s always wanted something from the country. So it comes as no surprise that he would at the last minute — and it was last minute, it was unplanned — decision to go to a firehouse and see NYPD and New York Fire Department members just because he needed to do something because it looked so bad.”

“He didn’t care, because look at his words when he spoke. All he talked about was himself, not the sacrifice of the people that served with these men and women who we lost 20 years ago. Is it surprising? No. Is it shocking? No. Is it sad and pathetic that this man, all he cares about is himself on such a solemn day? Yes.”
