Last week, the Biden administration was criticized when border patrol agents were seen on horses grabbing Haitian immigrants attempting to cross the Rio Grande. There was a public outcry from Democrats and sensitive people everywhere that the photographs showed horrific abuse. Some believed that the agents were whipping the migrants.

Jen Psaki put out a statement addressing the issue:

“I think people should take away that his actions make clear how horrible and horrific these images are, including an investigation, including a change of policy, including conveying clearly that this is not acceptable, and he’s not going to stand for this in the Biden-Harris administration.”

Trump, of course, loved it:

And now Texas Governor Greg Abbott is weighing in. These Border Patrol agents, the type that scares the sh*t out of migrants and possibly abuses their power, while needlessly hurting and scaring people are his type. Abbott wants them in Texas. From Politico:

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Sunday defended U.S. Border Patrol agents seen charging at migrants on horseback, saying he would hire them if they fear being fired. “You have a job in the state of Texas,” he told host Chris Wallace on “Fox News Sunday.” “I will hire you to help Texas secure our border.”

The Department of Homeland Security said it would launch a full investigation, and President Joe Biden said the footage shocked him. “It’s outrageous. I promise you those people will pay,” Biden said Friday.

Abbott said the fault for any misbehavior should be placed on Biden and members of his administration because they didn’t keep the Haitian migrants from crossing from Mexico into Del Rio, Texas.

Of course, Biden couldn’t possibly have stopped the Haitian immigrants coming across, except that they actually were intercepted by Border Patrol agents, just as is their lawful job. Everything “worked” with the exception of some rogue agents that abused people that could easily have been gathered up and held for detention or deportation. The system itself worked.

Abbott is doing nothing more than emphasizing that things should be “tougher” on the border, more abuse, more violence, and ultimately, more hatred, which is the GOP brand.
